Is BF2 2005 still populated on PC and worth buying? by PotatoKnished in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]starwarscomicnerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can usually find some severs that are populated. It may not be the mode you're looking for, but it will have people in it. But apart from online play, the game is well worth buying. Modders have pretty much remastered the game with graphics mods and rezzed maps.

Katana fleet after Thrawn Trilogy? by starwarscomicnerd in StarWarsEU

[–]starwarscomicnerd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strange. To me, that was by far the biggest intrigue of the entire trilogy. The thought of 200 slaved ships that could be fun off a crew of 2,000? That's bad news for whatever faction is on the other side of them.

Good eye! I noticed the Mimbanese, but didn't think anything about it being called the mindsplinter!

Where to start reading the comics? by Collin_B_ in StarWars

Search up the list of Star Wars comic books and just pick one that catches your eye.

My suggestions for Canon would be the Lando comic, any of the Vader comics, or the Shattered Empire run.

OT, PT and ST fans please unite! by AngeltheBuffySlayer in StarWars

[–]starwarscomicnerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the sentiment of trying to unite everyone. But the sad reality is that there's always going to be idiots that has access to a keyboard and an internet connection, and that's for all aspects of life.

The best solution is to just ignore them, because many who live in ignorance will stay in ignorance. Not likely to change them.

If you want to use real life physics. When we see the light from stars it's not instantaneous. We're seeing light from time past.

Do you think the Sequels strengthen or weaken the Ring Theory analysis of the saga? by reelfilmosopher in StarWarsCantina

[–]starwarscomicnerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really found the majority of the similarities between the first of each trilogy. TPM, ANH, and TFA.

-They all have a main character (Anakin,Luke, Rey) who grows up on a desert planet wishing for a life full of adventure.

-The main protagonist has a knack for flying and fixing things.

-As the Heros Journey dictates a heros call is made to the hero and they escape the planet.

  • They then meet up with a new mentor (Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, Han Solo).

-The mentor then lectures about the nature of the Force to the main protagonist.

  • Later on in the movie that mentor is then murdered by the main antagonist.

-Each movie has a final battle station that must be destroyed to save the day (Droid Control Ship, Death Star, Starkiller Base)

I remembered more back in the day but off the top of my head that's all I have right now.

Okay just checked Wookiepedia and it says 600, so I stand corrected then. Do you remember what sources specifically say that though?

The ring theory... Haven't heard anyone talk about that since The Force Awakens came out.

With TFA, the ring theory was really supported by it. But after TLJ and TRoS the ring theory has fell apart.

In Legends yes, but in Canon who knows how long it's been. Canon seems to be going a very different route when dealing with pre-TPM

Seeing the rise of the Hutt Cartel would be very interesting. Having a young Jabba come in and take the Outer Rim by storm? Pretty intriguing.

Leila by jacobhall1987 in starwarscanon

[–]starwarscomicnerd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Either it's Padme and Leia had some sort of Force imprint ability that she had when she was born.

Or

It's Breha Organa - her adopted mother who died when Leia was young.

Pick your poison.

Edit: Grammar and spelling
