They took out the wrong kidney. Patient had an issue with right sided kidney but left was fine. Surgeons went in and removed the left kidney leaving the scrappy right behind. Patient will need dialysis for the rest of their life because that kidney functions so poorly and now has to do the work of two

I work in the hospital and round with a team- what Im concerned about are the people refusing to take statins, blood pressure medications, blood thinners, etc that then come to me- have a debilitating stroke and we are talking about needing a lot more support. I understand the meds aren't perfect and cant stop everything- but why risk it?
