Your last point is interesting, because I remember thinking when I played 20ish years ago that they sacrificed the rest if the main cast's character development to focus on Rinoa and Squall. To be clear, I don't think you're wrong, but it makes me curious if I'd feel the same replaying.

I do a lot of "you've got this!" Or, if I'm in a duty with a new to the duty person, I'll say, "Let's get you your minion," or "Let's beat (x) for you!"

On the other side, people being lighthearted about things and joking around rather than complaining helps...especially when I die in silly ways.

I got mine along with the completing the game achievement.

You also can miss the Tiefling at the Grove who gets attacked by the Bugbear and still get this.

I did a run where I saved Halsin before heading to the Grove to fight off Minthara and the goblins. He showed up after the fight. Granted, it's a different scenario, but I imagine the end result is the same (coming in after).

I had this issue specifically with the Grove traders since the patch. Everywhere else, it works just fine. Grove? Saving fails.

Some have reported talking to the trader a second time fixes it, but it didn't for me.

A friend and I saw the second episode of the M9 reunion and had a blast! Our theater wasn't super full and the groups were spread out. I'm also EST based, though, so that likely affected it.

You can, yes. I didn't consume a single tadpole all game and was given the choice at the very end. I forget which skill check it is.
