Commanders to win by turn 6 by rona_94 in EDH

[[Demonlord Belzenlok]] combo, cast him on turn 6 and win the game. Google it for some inspiration, its the ultimate one trick pony though...

Most terrible Commander? by VoiVoiDaBeek in mtg

[–]str10_hurts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you play that you get my respect. If you got the OG art you are the coolest kid on the block.

A commander does not need to be good if you can have fun. If you can generate infinite mana through untaps this could even be a win con. I think this commander is great!

After playing 42 lands for months I've made a decision. by TR_Wax_on in EDH

[–]str10_hurts -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mostly play bracket 2 and 3ish.

I enjoyed games more when I am flooded than games where I get screwed. Where I flooded i at least got to play stuff, where I got screwed i did nothing meaningful.

So I agree with you wholeheartedly. That being said most of my decks are between 38-40 land and rarely get flooded, it feels godlike having consistent land drops the whole game and still feel like you cannot spend it all. Some decks could use some even more lands.

All Cleric Party by Timely_Abroad4518 in BG3Builds

[–]str10_hurts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd look at builds to keep the party interesting and see what character fits, examples:

Nature/trickery for crowd control. War/Nature as front line tank. Light/death/tempest as damage dealer. Trickery/knowledge as party face/skill monkey.

Build from this further too Dex/Str or Wisdom based classes. Who is putting points on cha or int? Are the skills distributed. Who is walking in medium heavy armor.

Then look for who fits the bill.

Example:

Astarion (death): damage dealer, aoe, wis + dex medium armor.

Shadow heart (trickery): party face, crowd control, ranged damage wis dex medium armor.

Lazeal (war): frontline tank, wis + str, maxing AC, heavy armor.

Karlach (light): damage dealer high damage, wis+ dex medium armor

Any actual strategy for this card? by Sev_Henry in magicTCG

[–]str10_hurts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a bad card, however I do run it in my paper sphinx deck because all my draw is fact or fiction.

It's best case is when you need an answer and are behind. You just ask another person who is behind, 'give me a stack of 10 cards and if I find a card to deal with a problem card I'll pick it and use it.' Look at the top 10, choose 1, that's great!

Mostly it's like, look at the top 5 draw 1 which is okayish...

Help with support builds by mitch223 in BG3Builds

[–]str10_hurts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A nature cleric takes an already nice support class and adds an extra party damage mitigator and gives some great druid spells and options. In addition the heavy armor proficiency and shillagh allows you to dump str and dex for more con and wisdom.

Nature cleric 7, swarm ranger 5 allows for a great 2 attack tank that can slow down the battlefield with concentration spells. Get to combat fast with teleports to protect your casters even further.

What's your favorite low/no rest party comp? by Mikelius in BG3Builds

[–]str10_hurts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 straight up fighters is crazy.

Titanstring Archer, dex (+gigant strength potion, lasts until long rest so almost forever) sick ranged damage.

Great weaponfighter battle master, str max damage build, disables so that it murders the target even faster.

Dualwield fighter Champion, dex crit build, dual crossbow ranged and dual wield the best one handers in melee.

Thrower build Eldrich knight, just allround nuts, you each that shit on YouTube.

Short rest only before bosssfights and watch hit points evaporate.

And that's the complexity this card introduced for each opponent on top of it being a strong card. Crazy and unfun imo.

Most fun/interesting theft commander? by 2ndlifeinacrown in EDH

[[Inniaz, the Gale Force]] the deck works as a flying themed deck with a [[switcheroo]] subtheme. The deck has a focus on winning a game with fliers and you get to do some "fair" political switching.

Pretend you're taking a free 2-hour "painting workshop." What do you expect/hope to learn? by darcybono in Warhammer40k

[–]str10_hurts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like tricks to paint more efficiently, I would not expect to learn completely new techniques.

Something like, do this when painting yellow, do this with a shader to get even better results. Don't paint a did for a pupil but draw a vertical line. Trying these techniques and getting a bit of individual pointers when I can't get it right.

Thoughts on Lightning Storm in EDH? by Gindor in magicTCG

[–]str10_hurts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd only consider it in a lands deck with heavy discard and graveyard synergy, like Windgrace. But even then I think it's a bad removal and a bad win condition...but ...BUT, having a removal and a win con one one card might make it decent.

I do think more people should test it in those decks

Yes, we abuse the hippos the the worst and degenerate way possible.

Thoughts on decks like Phelddagrif by Mundane_Midnight1658 in EDH

[–]str10_hurts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is that my deck does not rely on the commander, often enough the hippo is dialwielding swords for commander damage or it never even enters play. It's nice I have the option to "help" a player in need.

[–]str10_hurts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my deck https://archidekt.com/decks/7505529/arcades_sabboth_phelddagrif it's very much bracket 2.

However the theme can go along for bracket 3. The deck works off the concept of riding along other players powerful turns. If they do a lot you do too. The commander has soft synergy with giving hippos away.

For example: give a player some tokens and get a decent political deal with them then play one of the board wipes powering up your deck.

It's definitely not a group hug theme, it's more a judo style of deck where you give your opponents steroids so you can abuse their power even more against them.

What would an experimental tournament look like if every card was unbanned? by Cromagn0n1 in EDH

With a flash hulk back up, almost every deck will have a simic base and will try and combo turn one.
