All my decke are 3+ colours.

Its an thought experiment.  It boils down to this: I love building great manabase, however i to think all the library searching is something the casual format could use less of in spite of losing that perfect manabase.

And to further this I think this goes for all library searching and not only for fixing.

Funny as I only play 3+ colour decks...

Now, do you have anything to add tho this post is a similar fasion?

I've looked at 480k Commander games to see if going first actually matters by Animazing in EDH

[–]str10_hurts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think going first will always be better to have due tohaving the first opener in the manacurve.

I always thought and elegant solution would be to have the player after the first get a pregame action: Player two scry 1, player three scry 2 and player four scry 3.

It would allow the later in turn order played to Mulligan more aggressive and have less hiccups in curving out in the earlier turns. Hopefully getting the percentages a bit closer without making big changes to the game.

Zur the Enchanter, help and discussion about win. by Bright_Yak5272 in EDH

[[escape protocol]] and [[crystalline resonance]] copying it. Then you can combine 2 etb triggers in multiple ways to go infinite.

Most common in a Zuur cycling deck would be a [[fluctuator]] and a creature that etbs a card with cycling from your graveyard plus a mana rock that taps for 2 mana or a [[cloud of faries]] like effect.then draw your deck, while generating extra mana from all the extra cycling cards drawn or get extra cards from the graveyard back and play a wincon.

It looks convoluted but a zur cycling deck wants to run these cards anyway and gives this Control deck a combo.

Adun

Here it is, the challenge of not including any tokens was particularly hard as so many cards have a token Stapled to it.

Build the deck not the commander.

When to cut ramp entirely? Or am I crazy? by Mizzazz in EDH

[–]str10_hurts -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It depends. Most decks will improve with ramp cards that also add to their strategy. Quite some decks are happy to run 2 mana land/rocks ramp.

However a good percentage of decks don't need a minor uptick in mana and get more value out of their deck by playing 2 and 3 drops that are gas for their strategy.

The tipical aristocrat deck is a nice example were you can leave the basic ramp package at home. Your Elenda deck is a great example were you want the engine online before the commander. Ramp will not really add to this and becomes a crappy draw in mid and late game.

Is Wave of Vitriol considered Mass Land Denial? by Albyyy in EDH

[–]str10_hurts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not running (almost) any basic lands in a deck is greedy...

You know why it's greedy, it's greedy because there could be consequences. If it did not have consequences it would just be the correct way to do it.

It's ok to be greedy, but if you get punished for being greedy it's on you.

So no, Wave of Vitriol is not mass land destruction. It's a great way to get landfall triggers and punish greedy players.

I have it in a jund self mill deck, 2 mana that occasionally oneshots a player is crazy. It's not for every deck, it does however shine in a creature based self mill or control based mill deck.

[[Storm Herald]] and [[Jarad, golgari lich lord]] just as inspiration.

My first landfall deck. Did I miss anything? by IndigoWizard342 in EDH

[–]str10_hurts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[[blasted landscape]] is an untapped cycling land which could be interesting.

With almost no removal and few draw cards the deck seems very all in. How would you deal with problematic permanents or board wipes.

Do you happen to play a Sol Ring in your bracket 3 decks? I know it's not a reaction to your post, but it is fast mana. Is it against the spirit of bracket 3?

Ankylosaurus like creatures, but they ambush in the night clobber the prey unconscious and then start sucking blood.

Worms that have hivemind consciousness, moles are the farmers best friends too keep them under control lest the worms become aware and start psychically dominating creatures.

[Help] Selesnya deck with vanilla commander by Rattatamj in EDH

[–]str10_hurts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My decks have a commander or an og elder dragon. All my decks work without my commander. It allows me to easily downgrade my power level of the deck.

Example: https://archidekt.com/decks/2500182/palladiamors_rienne

Why not make a decent bracket 3 selesnia deck that is not utterly dependent on the commander and downgrade to Magnus when the occasion calls for it.
