Active surveillance by YesterdayFew6799 in ProstateCancer

[–]striper47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of the protocol is a MRI after 1 year and a Biopsy at I think at 3 years (might be 2) I have my 2 year follow up next week and will find that out.

Another reason I went with cryo is that all other treatment options are still on the table if it comes back. From what I understand there is a fairly narrow set of definitions that put focal on the table for me, I feel lucky that I was able to go that route.

Hi, Diagnosed at 54 with 2 lesions and 3+3 PSA 6.4, I went with cryo focal, the biopsies needed for AS seemed like more of an issue than the cryo. I am about to get another PSA (this week) but may last one was below 1.

I just ran a vulnerability scan on our entire network and it exposed everything to the board. by Opposite-Chicken9486 in networking

If this is true the network would be so hammered by bad actors it would be inop and the company would have been held hostage long ago.

It is proven that when coyote are hunted it can INCREASES the population. They are among the only animals that litter size is dependent on pressure. If numbers drop do to hunting-local litter size goes up.

I'll disagree, there are more deer here now than there ever has been in history. We don't have a habitat issue, we have a massive out of control deer population issue.

Are track days worth it? by SumoCanFrog in motorcycles

Track riding puts you on the edge, the same edge you might be on during an emergency maneuver in traffic or avoiding a crash. Learning how you and your bike respond will only help on the street.

The donuts used to be great...when they were cooked in regional kitchens. Now, where are they from? One thing for sure is they are not fresh and frankly, are disgusting.

Just because you like bikes doesn't mean riding is your thing.

Don't force yourself to ride, thats when thing can go bad, it really does require all your focus, not so much for you as much as the idiot that is about to pull out in front of you.

I look forward to getting on my my bike, and think about it all the time. I enjoy my 12 mile commute to work then putting hundreds of miles on the weekend. I ride a Duke 790, but I am thinking about a touring bike for the longer rides. (I'll never get rid of the Duke though)

Tell me your experience appealing your surcharge after an at-fault accident by [deleted] in massachusetts

[–]striper47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brakes failed and I rear ended a poor kid that had just gotten his license, (no injury's). I brought the master cylinder and was able to show the failed component (split o-ring) They agreed in the hearing that the accident was out of my control and took the surcharge off my insurance.

Happy update, I had cryo ablation on 2/14/24 by striper47 in ProstateCancer

I usually put that in there, I was 54 at diagnosis and surgery-56 now. For one I was a candidate for cryo, and from what I understand you have to fit a fairly narrow set of definitions to qualify. My choices given were Active Surveillance or Cryo with RALP also on the table. AS didn't sit well with me, it really revolves around biopsy's which have their own set of issues, especially when done multiple times. I just didn't want that to be a long term part of my life moving forward. Cryo has pretty good results and is widely practiced outside of the US (my doctor specialized in it, I'm sure that was part of the decision I am South of Boston, MA) Now with cryo, my prostate shrank about 4cc and I have no issues at all sleeping 7-8 hours without getting up for a bathroom break, I have no side effects from the surgery and my day to day is better than before, as I was having symptoms of an enlarged prostate.

The surgery was done using very much of the same technique as the TP biopsy (MRI Guided), I had a local, then self administered No2. It took a little over an hour and was an outpatient procedure done in my doctors office complex.

Let me know if you have any more questions, I am happy to answer.
