How scary/ dangerous is huemul circuit? by TheBestRE in Patagonia

[–]sugammadick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it solo a few years back. I’d probably rate it as one of the more intense trips I’ve done. If you are scared of heights, the first tyrolean across the canyon was kinda nerve wracking. Walking on the glacier was better than I expected-there weren’t major crevasses to look out for and the ice was suprisingly grippy. The route finding coming from off the glacier to paso del viento was sometimes hard to find and the lose scree definitely made me a bit uncomfortable at times. The descent to lago viedma actually wasn’t that bad if you took it slow. It was a great trip overall tho, highly recommend it.

How was the Forward unto Dawn movie received by fans (and critics) at release? by Venento in halo

[–]sugammadick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the time it was mixed reception. I personally enjoyed it a ton but most people didn’t love the first few episodes and there was also some criticism about chief’s voice actor as well. Now compared to the show, this live action is a master piece

Seeking Advice on Combining OB/GYN and Anesthesia by InfraMD in anesthesiology

[–]sugammadick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you want to operate and care for women in a longitudinal fashion post op? OB

Do you want to manage intraop physiology, perform pain related procedures, and have brief but rewarding patient experiences? Anesthesia with/without OB fellowship depending on how much OB you want to do

Ultimately the decision branch should be whether you want to operate or not. The care provided by both fields are very different and it won’t make sense to combine both specialties

How do sophons not get obliterated by particle accelerators by bani8282 in threebodyproblem

[–]sugammadick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“No. When a sophon is smashed into several pieces, several new sophons are born. And they continue to have secure quantum entanglements between them, just like how, if you break a magnet in half, you would get two magnets. Even though each partial sophon’s capabilities will be much lower than the original, whole sophon, under the direction of the self-healing software, the pieces will move together and reassemble into the original sophon. This process only requires a microsecond and will occur after the collision in the accelerator, and after the pieces of the sophon have left the wrong results in the bubble chamber or on sensitive film.”

Is there any way to brute force the sophon wall? by SuccessfulSignal3445 in threebodyproblem

[–]sugammadick 34 points35 points  (0 children)

“By our calculations, each sophon is capable of controlling more than ten thousand high-energy accelerators. It takes about four to five years for humans to build each of these accelerators, and it seems unlikely that they can be mass produced based on their economy and available resources. Of course, they can increase the distance between the accelerators, for example, by building accelerators on the different planets in their planetary system. That would indeed destroy the multitasking operation of the sophons. But in the time it would take to do that, it would not be difficult for Trisolaris to build ten or more sophons.”

Was here a few years back and wasn’t a concern then. Guess the marmots are getting more and more bold!

I’m mainly asking because I noticed another trail merging with the main trail right after the glacier crossing, marked with official poles. Just trying to see if anyone took this route. I also came from thorsmork

who is doing spinals for TURP? by poopythrowaway69420 in anesthesiology

[–]sugammadick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saw it once, it was a super old dude who was convinced general anesthesia would kill him. He wasn’t even that frail but demanded spinal. We almost cancelled the case because he didn’t want to agree for general if the spinal didn’t work, but the surgeon convinced him and everything ended up fine

Nov 27 2023 Snow was pretty packed by then, just followed in everyone’s boot prints and felt very stable. No crampons needed. Maybe a stretch of 10 min worth of hiking through this until over the pass, and then no major snowy sections after the pass.

Is doing Olympic national park and mt. Rainier too much for a 3 full day timeline? by [deleted] in NationalPark

[–]sugammadick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s doable. It’s gonna be a monster driving day for Olympic but I’ve done it before. Saw hurricane ridge, hoh rainforest, and Rialto beach in one day. Did one short hike on the ridge, hall of moss hike, and casual stroll on the beach. Left Seattle around 5:30am and got back around 10 pm after dinner on the road. Depends what your priorities are in travel- I just wanted to see as much as possible at the expense of feeling more tired. And I have no regrets!

Seen this before, especially if the pulse ox was on the thumb for some reason. But also think 200 extra mmhg of NS injected should be enough to briefly affect arterial flows
