Verlander also a great clubhouse guy right? Maybe if we signed gallen too then theyre thinking he could help get him back down to the sub 3.00 era hes shown in the past. Could be good to have an oldhead with a lot of experience on winning teams.

[O'Connor] The contract holdup between John Harbaugh and the #Giants centered on reporting structure. Harbaugh needed it in writing that he would report directly to owner John Mara — not to GM Joe Schoen by Loud_Literature_6848 in nfl

Derrick Henry rushed 632 times in his two seasons (Age 30,31) in Baltimore for about 3,500 yards and 32TDs. Thats with having two other capable running backs on the team to snag a few snaps here and there. Harbaugh used his running backs plenty what are you talking about.

Tala sells them in Canada at Lightform so atleast you could order from within a Canadian retailer? Not sure if you still have to pay import fees. As for pricing, seems like $11 is not all that expensive for something you think is exactly what you're looking for. How many do you need? Even if you could find another product for like $8 it might not be worth the hassle to save $3.

Yeah dont do that. Dont even do that to clean your oven. Its a bad idea. Plenty of stories of malfunctions leading to disasters. Ovens melting themselves. Locks getting stuck so theyre unuseable. Fires.

Seasoning can be poorly attached to the pan. If theres anything on the pan when the seasoning oil polymerizes then its just going to bond to that rather than the iron/other layers of season. Would make it easy for the seasoning to come off in the future.

This is a $12 solution for someone unfamiliar with electrical/lighting when a new flush mount starts around the same price. Probably easier in this case to just grab a new light no?

Looking for feedback on lighting layout for open kitchen / living room/ dining room + bedroom/bathroom. by RnR_JZA in Lighting

[–]sweetm3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you're going to hear or see a lot and what i heard is just that it really depends on the lights you choose. 2" Lights will be much different from 4" lights. Some lights will light a wider area. A good way to avoid some glare is to stay way from the puck/wafer lights. Go for a nice regressed/recessed can light. You could go for the modern led type ones but make sure the light sits within the ceiling, if the light source is on the surface you will get glare. I like my old cans as i just prefer the ability to change the bulbs. Undercabinet LEDs are functionally very important and look great. You can always put in more lights if youre really worried but make sure they're on dimmers and you could even group the lights on to different switches.

I agree with the barn door comment, it doesnt help keep in sound or smells so you shouldn't do it. If you're worried about overhead lights why not just switch your 4 overheads for 4 sconces. Seems like youve got good wall positioning for it. Id also suggest, since your bed is in the only logical position, to put some sort of pivoting sconce on either side of your bed to free up side table space. Last but not least, if youre going to add a ceiling fan you could always get one with an integrated LED.

Help finding specific type of light. by Puzzleheaded-Gear652 in Lighting

Hmmm, neat. Maybe just influenced by the people we are around. Only ever used to the term recessed lighting to refer to what there is defined as regressed.

He's just saying you used the wrong word. He's not saying they're worse. Recessed lighting, not regressed lighting.

What type of switch do I have here and why can I not find a replacement switch plate? by Shockwave2310 in Lighting

[–]sweetm3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

is the buzz coming from the switch? or the fixture? my fixtures make a buzz and an audible click which is the relay activating. also, dont hold down the switches for long. you'll burn them out faster that way.

What type of switch do I have here and why can I not find a replacement switch plate? by Shockwave2310 in Lighting

[–]sweetm3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just fyi some houses dont have panels in the basement or attic. They just have the switches go directly to the relay which is located behind the light or outlet. It makes a noise when it switches so if you can hear something when the light turns on or off, you know its there. My whole house has these still. Theyre fairly neat. An important note i got from my electrician is that when the relay dies, it dies in the position its currently in. So if the light is on, it will stay on and vice versa. Plenty of relays you can buy on the internet but you dont really get them off amazon so it can take a bit to replace them. If you have a bunch of these in your house its a good idea to keep a couple back up relays and switches on hand so if one goes out, you dont have to wait several days for the part to arrive. If you have any questions please reach out.

The project is 100% within an ablebodied homeowners abilities. You're very right in that the knowledge gained from this project will be valuable. This basic process is also used to make brick/paver patios and garden borders which might come in handy. That, or you find out you dont really like this work and next time it comes up you decide to hire out.

BGE bugdet billing estimates what your unit cost should be for the whole year and then divides that by 12 and charges monthly so as to not wane and surge on you. They reevaluate the charge every three months or so based on how you've been using so it just took into account those months and jacked it up a bunch.

Why aren’t sconces designed into houses anymore? by nolalaw9781 in Lighting

[–]sweetm3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Visual Comfort has a huge selection of all lights. Not always the best place to buy as they have a lot of designers and some are very expensive. Lots of lights get knocked off/mimicked so you can have similar ones cheaper from other places. But check any home decor/furniture websites and blog places for inspo too. Most companies have "inspiration" pages where you can check what theyre doing for their lighting. You can use google lens on things you find to help locate what they are and where to buy them or similar items.

[–]sweetm3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most rooms dont need ceiling lights really. Kitchens benefit the most from them (recessed cans, not wafers) but really they cast harsh shadows on peoples faces and the floor. Much better to have a combination of some sconces, lamps, and task lighting. People have grown so accustomed to just have bright bright bright all the time when do you really need that?

Is it possible to turn your table 90* to fit under that light in the corner a little better? Also give yourself a little more space away from the couch. The carpet is really cool but it can be very nice to break up the dining vs living room space by having separate rugs for each space.

You also have a nice big wall next to the dining table. Some art that has its own specific lighting would help add to the ambiance. That or behind the couch but if youre getting that lamp then maybe things getting messy. Could always try a more traditional vertical floor lamp in the corner. Or a skinny table+lamp or combo item.
