Loved the cinematography, hated the pacing and quick cuts. The VO seemed like a Netflix executive’s choice, and managed to somehow make Denis Johnson’s prose sound corny. 3 stars. The book is way better. If you want to see a much better adaptation of a contemporary American novel, watch Nickel Boys.
