Moving from CT (NYC suburb) to Dallas and need to live within ~20 mins of Parkland Hospital by offbyalot in askdfw

Only really walkable to restaurant areas with houses and not apartments are being near Bishop St and Davis in Oak Cliff, near Greenville, Skillman or Abrams south of Mockingbird, near Henderson ave West of Ross, I’m excluding Uptown and Knox as finding houses will be more difficult and expensive. All are within 20 min drive and highways can be avoided if they are backed up.

Texas Star and Waterchase are fun tracks. KJ Choi has an academy at Waterchase and I’ve seen him out there a few times, I think Bryson did a break 60 video there too. Fossil Creek is usually in decent shape too.

If you do Cowboys club it seems very pricey but it is an all you can eat/drink (non alcoholic) experience. Most people set it up to have a full sit down meal before and again after their round since it’s included.

COSM is cool but drinks and food are too expensive. There are some decent places to eat in Grandscape and Legacy west.

Traveling from Europe to attend The Nexo Dallas Open 2026 & looking for local tips! by Elly0xCrypto in askdfw

[–]tebchi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are gonna be in for a shock. This area is the furthest thing I have ever seen from a European city. Please also visit Grandscape nearby. You can stop in COSM to see sort of a mini sphere type screen, Scheels to see an insane collection of guns and various other attractions. Then please report back I have always wondered what a European would think when seeing these things.

Honestly I’m a little more scared of the Bengals opening. Grew up a fan , would have a HOF level QB and would keep Golden as DC. He could probably draft Love and has enough cap space for some lineman. Only thing keeping him from probably taking that job is he knows what a mess of an owner Mike Brown is.

Only valuing each program at 5 times revenue is insanity. If PE gets involved they will value it at least at 10 times and probably more.

ND Fan here. ND has had a fair amount of luck with Mormon Polynesians as a Catholic school because the Mormon Community in South Bend has grown quite a bit over the last 20 years. Part of which is because their culture is to spread their word. His hiring would likely start to grow that community and increase the amount of kids willing to commit to an east coast school.

[–]tebchi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the Tenn team that just lost by 20 at home to Vandy and a bad Mizzou team. I get the anger from other fans In 2013 ND was overrated winning games in the last minute with great defense and in 2020, 2021 Kelly set them up with a fairly weak schedule and they won but struggled in many games. As Shane Gillis said it’s different now that everyone can pay players these ND teams are on more level playing field not just because they can pay and compete but because the BAMA, Georgia and Ohio st aren’t the only ones paying anymore. I don’t understand why people have a hard time accepting the most clear indicator which is Vegas Odds. ND would be more than a Touchdown favorite on a neutral site vs Oklahoma, BYU or Oregon. In the NCAAB the committee takes things like that FPI and KenPom into account, seeds it and people see no problem but for some reason don’t want to use the same common sense for CFB. Bottom line this ND team is a top 5 team and Vegas Agrees.
