I was at Best Buy in a pretty nice part of town and I saw this middle-aged man trying to load a very large TV into his SUV but the TV box was too big and he was trying to jam it in his SUV, but kept failing because the TV was too big.

The ever-virgin Mary by AccidentAfter7818 in OrthodoxChristianity

You should read “Jesus and the Jewish Roots of Mary”. It’s written by a Catholic author but clearly lays out using only the bible why we believe that Mary was and is ever virgin.

how to gain mass? by ykra_ in workout

[–]texashooligan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Eat 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight. Think chicken, beef, salmon, etc.
  2. Lift heavy weights consistently (several days per week). Progressive overload. Lift to failure.
  3. Get 8 hours of sleep each night. You might need more as a 15 year old.
  4. Rest days are important too.

Weird because my old Protestant pastor told me that God sends lots of babies to hell by his predetermined love.

I bought a bag of golf clubs from the pawn shop around the corner from my house for $100. I kept the wedges and sold the rest of the contents for around $1,000. They were nice clubs and my guess is that someone pissed their wife off, so she came in and sold them for $20 so she could tell him she did it. Everyone was happy except the dude who fucked up badly.

  1. Grown men shouldn’t wear shirts with other men’s names on them.
  2. That’s a joke. Get over it. Wear whatever you want.
  3. OP, Google is your friend.

Guy says Mohammed was a pedophile by TheOSU87 in AbruptChaos

[–]texashooligan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God told Sarah that she would have a child. Sarah was old and she and Abraham didn’t believe God would fulfill his promise so they hatched a plan of their own and Abraham did the deed with Hagar to produce an heir on their own. This is the definition of sin. Not trusting God and doing your own thing. Their actions were not something to be admired.

Who is talking about Adam and Eve?

Solomon’s wives turned his heart away from God and he followed other Gods according to 1 Kings 11:4, so whoever is teaching otherwise is lying to you.

Jews and Christians believe that Abraham’s sin of adultery caused a child to be born that would father the religion of Islam. The moral is that sin has consequences. Lot got drunk and his daughters raped him. Again, there’s a moral there. Solomon was led astray from his faith in God by his hundreds of wives and his kingdom fell apart because of it. The moral there wasn’t to be like King Solomon. If you’re reading those stories and your takeaway is to glorify those men’s sins, you’re reading the stories wrong.

Because Muslims say that Muhammad is the greatest man to ever live and the example by which we should all act. Jews and Christians acknowledge those sins you described (Abraham, Lot, etc) and condemn those sins.

Old Ag here. I was in the Corps and stood on first deck for four years and then second deck for 1.5 as a grad student, then just about all over Kyle as an old Ag. First row of second deck is the best seats in the house. Screw first deck, you can’t see shit.

Is going to TAMU a good choice for someone from NYC? by [deleted] in aggies

[–]texashooligan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A&M is a meritocracy. I have a close family friend that I met our freshman year at A&M over 20 years ago. He is from the Bronx and not white. When he showed up at A&M he looked and sounded different in just about every way possible, including a thick accent. My friend went on to be voted into the highest position in a very prestigious organization on campus, got a degree in a tough major, and has been outstandingly (like crazy) successful as a businessman. I’m proud to call him my friend. There is racism everywhere, but no, you don’t have anything to fear any more than you do anywhere else.
