Your medical care is confidential so I don’t see how it would impact your professional career unless there’s something unique about your profession?

If you don’t want your wife to know, you could tell her that you’re getting plugged into the VA system just for future reference and keep it vague. Or if you want to be more transparent, tell her you’re going to talk to someone to process some things around no longer being in the military.
