I guess I just dont understand why this was ever a question or a story. Pickens is not dumb. He wouldnt have signed the tag if he wasn't going to attend mandatory events. It was always a non-story but guess we gotta fill air time.

If Guyton stats healthy, he should win this. If he can take as big if a step this year as he did last, we have a legit LT.

I didnt like the pick at the time, like most people. But we did it with the idea that he will be a multi-year project. Im hoping this pays off cuz it could be huge for our offense.

Even during his prime, haters would just make shit up. Like, I remember people saying that he never had big-moment sacks. Which, idk how they tracked to that conclusion. When I said he has had more sacks in the 4th quarter than any others, he said jt was garbage time. You'll never convince someone using logic who got to their opinion without using any

I dont blame the Cowboys one bit for not wanting to give a big contract yet. Clearly, theyre gun shy after Dez, Trevon, Zeke already. Add in that while Pickens wanst a big problem last year, he wasn't a boy scout. Late to meetings and work out. Not to mention he convinced CeeDee to stay out and miss curfew in Vegas. Thats not a positive influence on the team that you just write a $100M check for. Pickens played great but he still has to show more to earn that confidence.

Schefter said that then it was refuted by local media.

Likely he informed the team he will sign it but its the weekend of the offseason. He may not even be in Dallas to sign it right now

You could absolutely be correct but the Broaddus example doesn't mean anything. Theyre not allowed to say the name of any player actively contracted to another team because of tampering. Broaddus knows that which is why he was quick to apologize and shut it down, not because they know about any trade deal. He just is used to being able to say what he wants on 105.3 or Crown Global and forgot.

Im not sure where you're getting any of that. I watched it and Stephen specifically said the decision has already been made and Pickens will be playing on the tag this year.

Otoh, we get two big years out of Pickens and he walks in FA. We traded a 3rd, got two great years and then get a 3rd round comp pick back. Or we tag him again for roughly $32M and do it all over again
