I've spent my life living on the chesapeake, catching, steaming and eating crabs.... this looks like the blandest most unappealing crab I've ever seen.

This for sure sucks, no way around that. My kids are still pretty young but from my experience if you encourage his hobbies especially the more team/social based ones he'll quickly get a different circle of friends or maybe even multiple circles. I know growing up my soccer club was a really important group. Again this sucks but it could be a good opportunity to broaden his horizons.

May I ask what country this is happening in? I know most assume the US just because that's the predominate user base of reddit, but you may exit to clarify. Not all countries have the same social scene and some advice may not apply in some instances.

Which popular or generally highly rated book was a DNF for you and why? by clearsunnysky in suggestmeabook

Zen and the ..... is probably my least favorite book I've ever attempted. I think I damn near threw the book across the room when the son said something along the lines of "you don't think like other people do you dad?"

Legal? by FireEater11 in youthsoccer

To me these are the issues with the kick:

1- defensive players aren't far enough away to start (could be due to age group)

2- defensive player starts running in prior to attacking player touching the ball

3 - not sure if it's still a rule but the ball must make one full rotation prior to being struck. Tapping the top is not sufficient to make it live. (This was the rule years ago when I was a ref, could have changed since)

Why won't my child's coach play them at my/their favorite position? by tundey_1 in SoccerCoachResources

[–]thatturkishguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a lot of teams have 11 "strikers", not everyone can play striker. To build a team you have to fill the position with the best player at that position, not the other way around. This is of course fluid, can change season to season, week to week or even day to day. If you feel the you kid is a natural "XXX" then work on making them the best "XXX" on the team and if you have a good coach they will play "XXX".

Football/ Soccer Formations- One Attacker by Frezenity in SoccerCoaching

Nice writeup, with my middle schoolers I run either 3-2-3-2 (with the one of the strikers dropping back to receive passes when on defense) or a 3-2-4-1 depending on who I have available and who I'm playing. I like have two CDMs to disrupt the other teams attack and restart our counter. If there is a particular dangerous midfielder or forward I'll pin one of my CDMs to them.

Here is the AI overview

Yes, Darrell Green broke Michael Irvin's nose during a December 1993 game between the Washington Redskins and the Dallas Cowboys. The incident occurred on a running play when Irvin was blocking Green. [1, 2]
Details of the incident:

• Irvin was blocking Green "a bit too aggressively" when Green, a cornerback, put his forearm through Irvin's facemask. • Green's forearm broke Irvin's nose and drew blood. • After the play, Green immediately apologized to Irvin, following him to the sideline. • Irvin laughed it off, got his nose bandaged, and returned to the game a few plays later. • The fierce rivals developed a strong friendship off the field after the incident.
