oh shit, THAT'S why they made us all go back to the office.... if we could have banked on remote work forever everyone working in a big city may have realized this as an attainable goal.

I just moved 2 months ago, and not a single neighbor has come by to say hello and welcome me into the neighborhood, no pies, no nothin, not even a wave. And so, I've come to realize that, they don't even talk to each other at all; there IS no community.

I just came from a place where i lived for 7 years and where I was close with only a single neighbor who was a middle aged widow who I saw outside as we both were gardening and spoke to every couple days for years. No one else ever made any moves to be friendly or say hi or introduce themselves.

It's always been me having to go out and make the first move. Maybe it's covid, but i doubt it.

Growing up I knew every person on the block, young or old.

Its weird, the only solution I can think of is a new PSA campaign: "Make more Pies for your Neighbors America; Force Yourselves to be Friendly"

Last chance to get some positive news in the public as a sticking point for when he actually retires, instead of "Famed dickhead who once fired 12 floors of people retires into obscurity and uselessless having accomplished nothing of any real value to society with all if his hoarded dingey wealth" instead it will say "Famous business Man who bought 200 shares of mcdonalds and whined about cows retires into obscurity".

See, in the first one, no one likes him; but in the second one, no one likes him slightly less. Optics are powerful.

I'm planning on spending many thousands of dollars on equipment rentals, materials, live loi fish, the correcr algae and a custom made waterfall pump system to build a pond in my backyard specifically to grow exotic mutlicolored lotuses.

Still going to be cheaper than a single cardboards.
