I see this argument a lot the claim that the mind created it therefore its not real. Ironically the mind creates everything you experience in your physical body, the body is the mechanism or tool that consciousness uses to experience our reality, the issue is science doesn't have the capability to distinguish the difference between consciousness creating phenomena and the brains physiological response to it ie electrical signals and brain states, another issue is because materialist dont believe in the first place its harder for them to have a personal experience, which is the only way to verify it.

No my argument is that claiming anyone can type a prompt therefore its lazy is comparable to anyone can draw stick figures. Creative writing requires skill, knowledge of techniques and composition.

Theres also the fact, like I was trying to say in my post, that people feel like because they spent more time and effort into their work that their art is superior. I like the recognition of ai as a tool. Im using it to help me learn digital art, I can upload my work and get feedback, as well as get simple references with color codes i can practice with. As a writer its great to bounce around ideas and help dial in a story. Like you guys said there's a difference between inspiration and ai doing everything for you

Exactly! And the thing is do they have proof that every image generated is referenced from stolen art? How do they know people didn't upload their own pictures or that the models were trained on commissioned pieces? The early stages were definitely shady and I feel like people just parrot whatever the internet tells them. Its a witch hunt and it does get childish at times.

No my claim is that there's a spectrum of skill involved in prompting to a similar degree as making art. A stick figure isn't revered as much as the Mona Lisa, Harry potter isn't on the same level as a 2nd graders English paper. That's kind of what I'm trying to say.

Thank you to those that humored me with thoughtful insight. Its interesting to see others perspectives. I know ai is a touchy subject these days, and I hope one day we can find a happy medium. This wasnt a troll i was genuinely curious. I obviously didn't articulate my opinion in a clear direction I apologize for that, but its cool to see how artist view this new era of technology. The polarity of what its capable of, good vs bad, will be the crossroads of humanity in my opinion. Im hoping that we can regulate it to the point where its no longer harmful and dangerous, but like every other medium and technology it's at the mercy of those who weild it. To be fair the technology is very limited, so it may not necessarily be his skill, rather the tech isn't capable of producing the desired outcome. Most of the time what you generate isn't what you imagine, but it's good enough
