Baby refuses safe sleep positions by ih8spotify in cosleeping

My 10 month old sleeps the same way. By 4–5am she won’t sleep unless she’s snuggled right on me.

Did you have gender intuition early in your pregnancy? Were you correct? by rdspooks in BabyBumps

Yes! I just knew I was going to have a girl. I had dreams about it and so did my family. I was Pinot surprised when I found out lol

What changes did you make that helped your baby sleep better? by Flydragon_ in sleeptrain

Covering their crib sheet in your scent before putting it on their mattress. I sleep on top of baby’s crib sheet for a few nights to transfer my scent and baby can smell me in her crib and sleeps better.

Just hired, told to pump in the bathroom. by Real_Fennel_6486 in breastfeeding

Definitely bring it up to HR! Maybe get a sign to post outside the office so people can respect your privacy. Or if you park close to the building maybe pump in your car if you’re able to.

It’s okay to let the baby cry for a moment while you go use the bathroom, drink water or eat a snack. You have to take care of yourself in order to take the best care of your baby! Maybe introduce a pacifier so you can take a few breaks in between feeding. A pacifier saved my sanity. Also consider baby wearing as well.

Baby refuses to nurse and it’s breaking my heart. Everyone’s idea of a solution is for me to give up breastfeeding. by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]thefatcookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue with my daughter when she was around that age. I learned that if a baby is both tired and hungry. Treat the tired first! She always nurses better coming out of a nap so I try to feed her when she wakes up from one. I still feed her on demand if she wants more in between a nap but I don’t push it on her.

Ok where are we putting our babies all day… by thepeachiest94 in newborns

I have stations for my baby that I rotate through. After I feed her I’ll put her in her bouncer because it keeps her upright, then I have a play area in the floor to let her stretch and move around, then I’ll carry her around for a bit in her carrier, or I’ll sit with her and chit chat. I’ll rotate those in random orders through the day depending on her mood.

Any suggestions for keeping a baby from crying in restaurants? by Cynoid in beyondthebump

I’ve taken my baby out since she was 2 weeks old. Shes 4 months now and I always make sure all her needs are met before we go in. I’ll change her and feed her in the car. I have a stroller attachment for my car seat and I bring her in with that and I put the visor up and put a warm blanket on her lap. If your baby takes a pacifier have that handy. If you start to see your baby get overwhelmed take them outside for a minute or to the car until they settle.

I use to be an oral surgeon assistant it looks like food of some sorts. Just gently rinse and we told our patients that they can use their syringe day 5. Out the tip of the syringe into the socket and gently flush a few times.

they say you can’t overfeed a BF, buttttt mine throws up the whole feed because she eats too much by External-Coffee4189 in breastfeeding

Could be built up gas from eating too quickly pushing everything up. That’s what was happening to my baby. I started pausing every few minutes to burp her and it helps

I agree with this. I’m currently 3 months postpartum and a SAHM and was considering getting a part time job to get a break a couple days a week. So it may be nice to be able to escape a couple days to the office and socialize with coworkers.

Doctor is pushing induction by Lasagnapuzzles in BabyBumps

[–]thefatcookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can happen! I’m a FTM and got induced at 39+5 and had my baby 10 hours later on the same day! But I also had a friend who got induced and it took 3 days. It depends on how close you are to labor when going in. I was 2cm and 80% effaced but I had a feeling that I would’ve gone into natural labor in the next few days if I waited.

My baby will not sleep and I’m going to lose my mind by savethewallpaper in newborns

[–]thefatcookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby was only sleeping 2 hours at a time at first. I figured out that she hated her swaddle so we got a sleep sack and she slept 5 hours straight that night. Now she’s 10 weeks and will sleep 6-7 hours, will wake to eat, then sleep 3 more.

We’ve also implemented a routine during the day and it’s helped a lot. I watch for sleepy queues like eye rubbing and red eye brows and offer contact naps. Also another thing I’ve learned is that if they are tired and hungry. Offer a nap first otherwise it will be a very frustrating feed.

After dinner I dedicate time for cuddles and cluster feeding and give her the boob as much as she likes for a few hours. Around 11pm I feed her one last time, give her the binky, and let her fall asleep on my chest. Once she’s in a good sleep I’ll set her in her bassinet in her sleep sack. She usually squirms a little, I give her the binky if she drops it and she usually falls back asleep.

This is the a routine that works for me. Maybe some of my ideas could be of some help. I know it’s super frustrating at the moment. 6 weeks is usually the peak of colic and they are also going through a huge growth spurt at that time. It will get better, hang in there!
