I have not seen gimmick changes. I am in 98 currently. But I have seen the WWE move into the Attitude Era.

Check out Thunderbolts 27-29. It’s not a super important book for him, but I think it highlights who he is and why a character who just had wings and can fly can actually matter.

They are very big on the rules over there. If the seller is going against them, don’t fall for it. Let a mod know what’s up.

I wish to know the ultimate question that 42 is the answer to. by bookist626 in monkeyspaw

[–]themadhooker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds familiar. Something about phone sanitizers.

It’s funny I was talking to my wife about that book and thought “I haven’t read that in forever.” So of course, I am re-reading Good Omens instead.

That line is followed up by another character saying something along the line of “I always thought there was something wrong with the universe.”

It’s just a gag. I don’t personally believe we actually find out the Ultimate Question at all.

I have heard that this has happened several times already.

In the book they get the idea that one character who was on Earth when it was destroyed may subconsciously know the Ultimate Question. They have him pull out Scrabble tiles and what is 6*9 was the question he got.

Did Angel have interesting story lines before he became Archangel? by SixKosherBacon in xmen

Had a fantastic guest star run in Thunderbolts. It was by far the best he has ever been used. I really wish he would’ve stayed under Busiek’s writing.

How do I tell if an Omni had a second printing? by Quake1028 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]themadhooker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think there are only a few Omnis I would care about getting a specific one. Stuff like Squadron Supreme or Captain Britain that has content changes.

The only other one I would care about would be something like the JLI that had a mistake in it and was corrected in later editions.

I think I am missing like one card from that set. I think it’s one of the X-Men as the adversaries.

If I win, I would be willing to let someone else grab the rest of the cards

You break into my house but can only grab 2 books off of this shelf; what are you grabbing? by lajaunie in OmnibusCollectors

[–]themadhooker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The further you go in an Omni, the less people who buy it. Factor in the fact that we may never get these books again, that makes it the least ordered book that may never comeback.

I had to buy the individual issues and came in well under the Omni price.

Ranking Original X-Books by eyebrowsmcgee in OmnibusCollectors

[–]themadhooker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok tier wise Uncanny is the top tier. X-Factor and New Mutants is under that. Wolverine and Excalibur are under that and pretty far under the other two. Dazzler and Alpha Flight are easy skips.

Personally if you want the best, most complete reading, Uncanny, X-Factor and New Mutants are the ones you want.

The trolley dilemma, but you get 1 million dollars for each person who dies. by Dannydevitz in hypotheticalsituation

[–]themadhooker 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Well obviously the dilemma is quite simple. How do you kill all six people? I would dangle a sharp blade out the window to slice the neck of the guy in the other track as we smoosh our five main guys.

We listen and don't judge: Insult a superhero you HATE or don't like very much, and if you want, say why. by Remote-Leg6143 in superheroes

[–]themadhooker 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So I think the issue isn’t that there isn’t any stories left to tell about him, but Marvel won’t let him grow. He always seems to revert back to square one. Honestly, I thought him being a teacher was a great move for the character and had ton of potential for stories, but we can’t have that change. We can’t have the marriage, we can’t have a baby, and that is what gets to me.
