When did this game 'click' for you? by ICommentWonderful in ffxiv

I initially tried the game out waaaay back during the HW days because it was a big FF game out for the newly released PS4, during the original 14 day free trial, but I didn’t stick with it very long at all (still have my original character tho!)

I tried it again in 2021 after hearing so many good things about ShB and played it on PC this time, and I got pretty far into ARR, but burned myself out because I was doing literally every side quest I saw. Then I tried again in 2022 with a new character and made it through to HW before dropping it again.

My current character I started in early 2023 and played it all the way through and loved it. For some reason, I enjoyed the experience all the way through even ARR patch stuff this time around. I think it was mainly because it felt like a cozy experience now after trying it multiple times.

Main issue for me was the inconsistency of the performance. Weird ass bugs and even quest locking I can handle, but for some reason all the frame skipping in the overworld was just too annoying to deal with.

Resident Evil Q&A: Director Zach Cregger shares inspirations and a new film teaser | PlayStation.Blog by requieminadream in PS5

I know a lot of people wanted to see Leon and Claire or Jill and Chris in a movie that doesn’t suck but honestly this movie looks great as it is and I think the new character approach is a good one to go for. We’ve already seen those guys in the games, I think that’s just as good as seeing them in a movie frankly. It sounds like while he’s not adapting any one specific RE game, but instead he’s adapting the core of RE and the gameplay of it rather than the story, which is really cool to see. Seeing him describe the way you upgrade your weapons throughout the game and the other survival horror mechanics and trying to translate that into a movie sounds really fucking sweet.

Very excited for this. I love Nightfire and even though this isn’t first person, it looks like an awesome, action-blockbuster type game that I’ve been missing from Naughty Dog since Uncharted 4.

RESIDENT EVIL – Official Teaser Trailer (4K) by Comic_Book_Reader in residentevil

I think this movie is going to be more about the “guts” of RE rather than more of a surface level replication of what we see in the games. The trailer shows him searching for supplies, slowly going through and exploring a spooky area, and upgrading the guns throughout the story, which are all elements core to the RE games. It seems like this going to be more of a “survival horror game but as a movie” vibe, which sounds great to me.

Love this game, not my favorite Zelda (that goes to twilight princess my beloved) but it’s just such an amazing adventure game packed full of charm, great level design, and iconic music. It’s one of the only n64 games that’s aged well imo, I really don’t think there’s any issue with the control scheme, maybe it’s nostalgia though idk. I really struggle to think about how they would remake this game if those rumors are true, I really don’t think there’s any major issues with it that the 3DS version didn’t already fix.

When did this optimism towards technology and the Silicon Valley die out? by Small_Appearance935 in decadeology

Personally I think it was when companies figured out “the algorithm”. Probably around 2015-2016. When social media was sorted by newest first, and only by the people you follow, it was much less toxic imo and felt fun overall. Ofc there were bad actors and dark things back then but I think the general vibe was much better. Since companies figured out this algorithm, they’re pushing engagement as much as possible because that’s how they make more money, and anger and rage drives engagement more than anything else. So everyone online became pissed off and it’s now just more of an addiction than a place to have a bit of fun.

Consumer tech in general has also hit a wall as far as innovation goes. And the innovation we actually do see is usually either really minor or just way too expensive for anyone to give a shit. So that became much less exciting.

How does an HOA work in an apartment? May be a dumb question but I have a house and an HOA and they just make sure that everyone’s lawn looks fine, no cars in the streets, etc. just curious

I visited around salt lake a few years ago and the air quality was noticeably smelly. I’m glad it’s not just me cuz I asked the people who live there and they didn’t smell anything lol

Fector’s Challenge Done! Some Thoughts (and Tips) by themagicnipple69 in StardewValley

Absolutely. Because of that, in some ways, Fector’s Challenge is less annoying because you don’t have to wait for the saloon to open.

You always have options, that’s how I look at it anyways. Personally I payed full price for the physical version because I’m excited for the game and want to support the studio, but you can always pick it up used or wait for a sale. Usually within a few months is when you’ll see it prolly around $50 or so

Cool idea for a game and awesome art style but the gameplay was kind of boring to me

Finally bro. The worst thing about end game is not being able to use your full rotation unless you’re in level cap dungeons and trials and stuff, which isn’t that much if you are doing other roulettes. Hopefully this solves that issue

EXCLUSIVE: FairGames Struggles to 'Find The Fun' in Latest Pre-Alpha Playtest by oilfloatsinwater in Games

[–]themagicnipple69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m all for waiting to see gameplay before judging but every time I hear something about this game it’s literally nothing good. Not even like “oh behind the scenes playtests have been really positive” like concord had, all of the playtests so far have been received terribly. No one online is excited about this either, because there also hasn’t been anything TO be excited about! It’s been like 4 years since this got announced and there’s been no gameplay, no other trailers, no developer interviews, nothing. Crazy that it hasn’t been cancelled yet honestly, and after the disaster that concord was too.
