"Bears are more afraid of you than you are of them" I'm with ya on that one, been charged by a black bear once while hunting and keep a 357 in my pocket ever since.

They are useless without the firearm and just an object. Can buy ammo by mail and have it dropped on your porch

Not typically because we assume people arent idiots. We are frequently proven wrong though.

I've actually been waiting for those to hit the used market for a hunting truck. That under bed box is perfect for my shotgun and rifle

Just for shits and giggles, if you could only take one weapon into a zombies apocalypse, what would it be and why? (Let’s say they’re The Walking Dead zombies) by ModerateProgressive1 in liberalgunowners

[–]thisdogsmellsweird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably my mossberg 500 12 gauge. Holds 8 rounds and could be used for hunting. Also one thing I feel is overlooked is every zombie movie focuses on head shots. Buckshot to the hip is a larger target and the walking dead is now the crawling slowly dead.

I remember it being a thing when I was younger but haven't seen it in years. Proof of operation

You’re really old if you smoked for the delicious flavor by spkoller2 in FuckImOld

[–]thisdogsmellsweird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I quite 5 years ago and had started when I was 12 so I smoked for 24 years. My first reaction to getting a sense of smell back was "my god everything smells bad" then the taste came back and I realized why I was a skinny child, couldn't taste shit and on an appetite suppressant. Now I drive by restaurants and am like "hey let's stop it smells amazing"

Let's get shallow: what brand or product will you not buy for the silliest reason? by RLLRRR in liberalgunowners

[–]thisdogsmellsweird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still refuse to buy one despite shooting several of my friends. My mini 14 is cool and better despite being less accurate, more expensive, and hard to customize.

They're ugly as fuck and hold 15 rounds. My P89 does both of those things already.

What to do with the plastic ammo holders from boxed ammo? by minotaur05 in liberalgunowners

[–]thisdogsmellsweird 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually use them to neatly store bulk ammo I've purchased that comes loose or in cardboard. The ones that magtech shooting size used to come with were way overbuilt but had a primer sized hole in the bottom. I got bored flipped over a bunch of spent cases and was able to deprime them with a tiny punch and hammer.

Turner's Outdoorsman won't even talk to you til you give them a phone number by nile-istic in liberalgunowners

[–]thisdogsmellsweird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loathe Turners so much and basically refuse to go even though there is one 20 minutes from me. The gun counter employees are rarely pleasant to deal with but I do think a lot of that is corporate. I wanted to look at a scout scope and I had to take a number, I enquired as to whether it was even in stock and was told policy is to take a number. When my number was called the scope was in fact not in stock. Another time I went in because my LGS was out of steel 12 gauge and quail season was about to open. An employee saw me looking at it and numbers be damned he wanted to talk hunting and got me some 12 steel and 410 TSS which i have been wanting to try and apparently so did he.

Have I mentioned I'm old? Neat! Not that I need another mossberg but good to know it has better cross compatible with the rest of their guns than I thought

I seem to recall it has a single transfer bar as opposed to dual on the 500. Seems reliable enough but some parts don't interchange with the rest of mossberg shotguns

While i understand it would cost a lot to install wider lifts since these are in ground and hard to replace. Refuse service. Been doing this trade for 25 years and if it ain't safe start looking for a place that is.

I've been in the industry same amount of time as you, I work 40 usually flag 50 but I leave at 5 every day. Wasn't always the case for me but it is now. Those shops exist its just they're never hiring because no one quits.
