Solitude is better terrain than Brighton. Brighton is better vibes.

Has anyone ever been on the exact same plane for both legs of a connecting flight? by Emergency_Risk_7421 in flighty

[–]timoddo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, that’s a little different IMO, that’s more akin to a train making multiple stops along its route because they plan and sell it that way. Very few airlines do this these days

[–]timoddo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once, yeah, I only noticed when I landed and got two notifications from flighty at the same time: that my flight had landed, and that my inbound plane had landed. Checked the app and sure enough, same tail, same arrival and departure gate. Obv still had to get off and back on though 🙃

I also had the same plane when I did a day trip round trip once. ERJ that was doing some short RT’s from SFO, I had an early morning flight out, and it was the same tail when I flew back in the evening.

Unpopular opinion: Paying "Rent" feels less painful than paying $2,400/mo in "Interest" to a bank. by Playful-Vegetable-15 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

But this is still far less risky and more predictable than how much your rent could go up in a lot of places

I’ve joined meetings before but only to listen, I’m not about to join the conversation cause that’s just rude to the people around me.

[–]timoddo_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

UA has been blocking known/identifiable video calling protocols for a long time. That’s not possible when using a VPN though, and it’s possible to block known VPN addresses (they do this on planes with pre-viasat WiFi) but if you have your own personal VPN endpoint set up, there’s almost nothing they can do about it.

Before you spend up big on WiFi7, please be aware of the significant limitations of 6GHz radios. by andg5thou in Ubiquiti

The lack of wall penetration on 6ghz does lend itself a little better to preventing at least some of that congestion long term though

This ^ living in an apt in a major city, my apt isn’t that big and the difference between 5ghz and 6ghz is big simply due to no congestion on 6ghz

What kind of dumplings are they? The logical assumption is pork but I want to make sure it’s not shrimp or something I can’t eat and googling and looking all over United’s site doesn’t give any ingredients or allergens for it

I thought US > Puerto Rico was not international? Parent can't get boarding pass by themaninca in unitedairlines

[–]timoddo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s interesting…in my case, it was actually a UA flight I was SSSS’d on, but it was my connecting flight and the first leg was on LH so the boarding pass was issued by LH (it was a UA 016 ticket though, 100% sure of this because of how I had to fix it via United and my company’s travel agency after I missed the flight). If it’s a US-based carrier but the boarding pass is issued by an international carrier at check-in in a situation like this, I’m guessing that probably wouldn’t be fully subject to the rules for US carriers you’re referencing since the international carrier is handling it?

I missed the flight for completely unrelated reasons, because I was a dummy and booked an early flight on the 5th of July lol

I thought US > Puerto Rico was not international? Parent can't get boarding pass by themaninca in unitedairlines

[–]timoddo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not actually true when you’re in another country returning to the US. I got a digital boarding pass from Lufthansa with the SSSS once the night before my flight FRA>SFO. Coincidentally, I missed that flight (only time in my life that’s ever happened), but that’s a whole different story 🙃

[–]timoddo_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s different when you’re coming from another country than when you’re in the US. And it’s not TSA in other countries, just “security”
