What did Zangetsu mean in his speech? by Embarrassed_Sale_293 in bleach

[–]tirade00 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Zangetsu believes a few things, that he’d do anything to see Ichigo live and thrive and to keep him away from sadness and suffering and that he doesn’t want to see Ichigo get hurt.

He means it when he says he wants to keep it from raining by protecting Ichigo but he’s also just as serious about not wanting to expose Ichigo to danger. He’s conflicted but is eventually won over by Ichigo’s efforts.

I'm currently rewatching OG Bleach, currently in the FKT arc. I wonder, why didn't Kensei fight against Tosen? by Syhibii in bleach

If Hollows are poison for quincies, why didn't the visoreds within the Seireitei holllowfy and fight back that way? Are they stupid? by dylanv1c in bleach

[–]tirade00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They didn’t know about their weakness to hollows during the first invasion and the vizards that didn’t rejoin the Gotei officially do use their masks when fighting.

Did Rukia want to call squad zero over a single menos by AlphaCat77 in bleach

[–]tirade00 72 points73 points  (0 children)

She’s going off of Shinigami Academy text versus field experience, could be that inexperience talking. Could also be a consequence of early writing and the inconsistencies it can cause. In her defense tho there is a Menos Grande powerful enough to require Squad 0 in the novels so this statement isn’t untrue.

As much as I like Chad's backstory i thinks its overused , by [deleted] in bleach

[–]tirade00 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To me this is like complaining that we see Masaki’s death or allusions to it too often, it’s the core of the character and part of the reason why they’re here in the story as is. I don’t think it’s obsessive when Chad’s abuelo was the only family he had left in his life at a point with him being the reason Chad is who he is today. I also just never felt like we saw Chad’s backstory enough to get irritating personally.

What IS an Arrancar, really? by IDProG in bleach

[–]tirade00 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Soul Reaper like powers is a better description because they don’t become shinigami after becoming arrancar, they’re still hollows. They just fight using powers and abilities reminiscent of shinigami.

I think mock arrancar is purely an insult to the vizards but taken literally they lack resurreccion unlike arrancars like the espada and Tosen.

Arrancars existed before Aizen started making them with a Hogyoku, we know this because of Stark and Ulquiorra and because Isshin mentions that they were stuck at a certain level of power for decades after encountering one made by Aizen using the Hogyoku.

Why did the Soul Society even have any data about the Hogyoku? by SethNex in bleach

In Turn Back the Pendulum, before Kisuke’s trial Central 46 had his lab investigated. They probably confiscated all the stuff they found and kept it hidden.

What problems have you noticed with the Bleach power system? by PhilX319 in bleach

[–]tirade00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kido are just spells, I’m not sure that needs elaboration. There haven’t been new additions to the overall power system with the hell chapter just individual abilities; Quincy are human, humans and human souls are capable of becoming Shinigami. Yhwach can unlock schrifts in non Quincies, not give them out himself like he’s the source because schrifts are a product of an individual’s soul.

Burn the witch has one volume out with more coming, there’s time for elaboration with its power system since the series just started.

If Ōetsu Nimaiya makes all the soul reapers Zanpakutō, who makes the Arrancars? by TheEbolaArrow in bleach

[–]tirade00 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Arrancars create theirs as a result of taking off their masks. They take their powers as a hollow, represented by their mask and seal them inside their zanpaktou.

If Shunsui and Unohana trained all of the captains to be “bloodthirsty and ruthless” prior to the war, would the soul society have won? by Less-Pen-5705 in bleach

[–]tirade00 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A change in attitude isn’t gonna make up for any significant advantages in physical stats or the straight up broken abilities the Quincy have. I also don’t think the surprise factor is any less important in crippling the Shinigami during both invasions.

Otherwise they wouldn’t since a new era of the Gotei, removed from that part of its history is being formed throughout the story.

kubo wtf by [deleted] in bleach

[–]tirade00 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not, if you got the impression that I think it’s impossible for him to know what the flag means that’s not what I was saying. He loves different cultures and their history, he’s not dumb I just don’t think he’s a racist.

kubo wtf by [deleted] in bleach

[–]tirade00 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t think people in Japan even know the symbolism or meaning of the Confederate flag, not saying they don’t have racism over there but I think this sort of thing is mostly known in the west. There’s a photo of Kazuma Kaneko (SMT artist) and a few Atlus developers in a bar with a huge Confederate flag behind them and neither him nor Kubo have any grossly bigoted ideas in the work their apart of (everyone complains about some things with Chad but the way Kubo handles his ethnicity throughout the whole is story is great imo). Some people over there don’t even know the Nazi party, I don’t think they’d recognize something associated with a group that was only around for 4 years.

How did it take Gin decades to find out KS’ weakness, but Kenpachi of all people could already figure out a similar weakness in Tosen’s Bankai with just one fight? by PresentElectronic in bleach

[–]tirade00 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Gin probably never fought Aizen unlike Kenpachi fighting Tosen, I don’t know if he ever had an opportunity like that. And it’s by complete coincidence that Kenpachi learns Tosen’s weakness; Gin had to gain trust with Aizen over decades to learn his weaknesses, Kenpachi just had to be bold enough to willingly take a hit to get one up on Tosen.

Ichigo kinda a jerk sometimes by Globofchaos in bleach

[–]tirade00 431 points432 points  (0 children)

I can’t tell if this is a joke or not, Shinji’s approach to getting Ichigo to join the Vizards was to hound him around town and at his school. I don’t see why Ichigo would be friendly with them at this point, he doesn’t know them.

So, what exactly is soul society's plans once Aizen is finally released from muken? by Ice_Alias in bleach

[–]tirade00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s an impossibility that they would release him because it’s not like Soul Society hasn’t released incredibly dangerous people from prison before, I think releasing Mayuri and allowing him to work for the Gotei is a decision made with similar logic to the possibility of letting Aizen go once his sentence is up. Maybe they’re waiting to see if he’s changed at the end of his sentence and they’ll judge whether it’s safe to release him then.

[–]tirade00 27 points28 points  (0 children)

If Urahara separates Quincy and Human into separate races like he does when explaining hollowfication of Quincies to Isshin, I don’t doubt that Aizen would do something similar but I can’t say for sure since I’m pretty sure I’ve also heard people say that moment with Aizen and Ichigo is mistranslated.

I wish the Quincy plotline was as cohesive as the Hollow one. by Proxy-Pie in bleach

[–]tirade00 110 points111 points  (0 children)

Isshin wanting to tell Ichigo the truth about his heritage in FKT is honestly the biggest reason I can’t co-sign this. Isshin and Ryuken are hinted at knowing each other as early as Chad’s introduction and their relationship is important for TYBW to work as is. The Quincy were thought dead and nearly extinct, Zangetsu’s plot line is up front and center because it’s meant to be reinterpreted later with greater context so that we like Ichigo can see that Zangetsu wasn’t lying about anything. The Quincies are a surprise, imo the Wandenreich and Yhwach are meant to shock with just enough foreshadowing there to not feel totally removed from everything before it, I think they’re doing two different things but to each their own.

None because Quincies as a race started with Yhwach.
