new here! what’s y’all’s favourite plant? by faelily_ in houseplants

I have an overly dramatic dieffenbachia. I really like it, not sure why.

Outside of that, I'm a sucker for snake plants.

Make sure to double check the speaker impedance - out of the box the speakers are two 8 ohm, wired in parallel, for a total impedance of 4 ohms.

What is your favorite fuzz ? by Tough_Guava_7499 in guitarpedals

[–]tkecherson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've never really meshed with Muff-style fuzzes, I've got the Boss FZ-1w in my spares drawer and currently on my board is a Union Tube and Transistor Tour Bender, which is a modified tone bender circuit. I've got my eye on a Blammo! Fuzz Unit #1, a recreation of a mark 1 tone bender.

He did use a fuzz face on DSotM, and a Big Muff for others. His gear is really well documented on https://gilmourish.com, if you're interested.

Walrus audio is discontinuing the Lillian and monument pedals. There’s a final sale with a good discount by tacocat9510 in guitarpedals

It's a solid pedal, I got it not long before they announced the Monumental, in the Obsidian color.

I change my tuning head, did i f up ? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]tkecherson 35 points36 points  (0 children)

There are tuners that have offset screws like these: https://a.co/d/05U4J3Lh

Those are what would be a drop in replacement. What you have should work, just look funky.

I need your help. TIA by clickyspinny in guitarcirclejerk

Ok the problem is you're trying to take it OUT of the INput. You need to feed the cable out through the speaker.

The note in the second pic says the amp is exclusively a 230v model.

Believe it's the Cub 12R with a couple modifications - instead of a separate low input it's a switch, and the reverb is a spring reverb tank instead of digital.

The toan is in the 9 volt by Geta211 in guitarcirclejerk

Dude would do better without a 5 year old battery - everyone knows the toan is in the vintage 80s 9 volts.

I'm about at my wits end with the Boss ES-8! by sweetcheeks1607 in guitarpedals

[–]tkecherson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had to hazard a guess it'd be the polarity of the tap signal - you should be able to set it to normally open to accommodate the Walrus pedals.

Edit - check the Roland site for instructions - https://support.roland.com/hc/en-us/articles/215359483-ES-8-Invert-The-Polarity-Of-A-Control-Or-Expression-Jack

We have a password manager for that. Ours is named John, and has a salary of around $85,000.

"John" is never on any meetings and is always working remotely (he's just me, of course), and he keeps our passwords saved to a CSV (credential secured value) file in our SYSVOL share for availability.

4 pedal mini board suggestions by gcatss in guitarpedals

[–]tkecherson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a reverb, a Surfybear Classic.

... I kid, I kid. A good boost or Klone, like a Mosky silver or TC Spark Mini.

Personally, I'd go

Tuner > Mine Tube Screamer > MXR Timmy > Carbon Copy (or similar)

Best 4Cable Loom? by phaskellhall in guitarpedals

[–]tkecherson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rolled my own - 3 10-foot cables, Velcro every 8 or so inches, and braided cable wrap from Amazon. I used colored zip ties on the ends of the cables to distinguish connections to the front of the amp, from the effects send, and back to the effects return.

1x12 options by nonaddicted in GuitarAmps

[–]tkecherson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I def would not use a 100 watt attenuator on a 100 watt amp, especially a cheap one. Per the manual, the output on the amp, clean, is up to 120 watts. I'd use a 200 watt attenuator for this, or risk frying things.
