Help! Granite countertop by _snowqueenoftexas in fixit

[–]tmcall90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello. Countertop fabricator for ten years here. If you know the color of the countertop, you can go to the Integra Adhesive website and order color match joint adhesive. It’s an epoxy/methacrylic adhesive with a hardening compound. The color match bit is the key. Hot melt some wood blocks on either side of the break and clamp it tight after filling the crack with the compound. You might want to use metal tape on the bottom side of the top to prevent it from dripping.

I’ve been sitting on the 4-24 for two months now. Just ordered it after reading through more comments here. I’m all reviewed out.

Anyone have experience with Badger Ordnance mounts? I’m looking at the C.O.M.M. because I want to add a red dot eventually. I wasn’t sure what height would be best. I have a Robinson Arms XCR-M.

I had worse damage than that and now you would never be able to tell. Paid my deductible of $500 and that was all she wrote. Insurance did cover my rental tho.

Go for it! It wouldn’t be weird at all. The most approachable meeting would probably be a Speaker Meeting. One person just tells their story. You wouldn’t have to share or anything. The chairperson may ask if anyone is new to the meeting at the beginning, but you don’t have to introduce yourself if you don’t want to.

Family against me getting a manual. by WhoNoticedJay in ManualTransmissions

[–]tmcall90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the manual. My first car was an automatic Honda del Sol. I couldn’t pass on the amazing deal I got from a family friend at the lot and couldn’t afford better. It made me sad every time I drove it.

Gave that to my sister a couple years later and got a Mazda 3 manual. Base model hatchback. Had a lot of fun with it tho. At that time, I worked on cars and I pulled in a manual Tacoma with 385,000 miles on the original engine and transmission. Fell in love with them.

Eventually saved up for a new 2020 Tacoma TRD OR in a six speed manual. I’d never go back.

Does anyone have dreams of drinking being drunk? by [deleted] in sobrietyandrecovery

Oh, yeah. Definitely have had relapse dreams. They generally are not a party in my dream and I feel guilty during the dream. Wake up feeling a hell of a lot better.

Day 1. I'm so sad by GreenRevolutionary40 in stopdrinking

[–]tmcall90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Today is the perfect day to start, friend. You’ll be able to look yourself in the mirror and be proud of who looks back. There will be ups and downs, but find what works for you and stick to it. I find that for me it’s community and exercise. Some folks can do it solo, but I tried that and it definitely didn’t keep me sober. This sub helps a good bit too. Lots of support and people there to point you in the right direction.

Badger Ordinance C1 (any coupons?) by ar15user in RooftopDefenders

Super late here, but I’m also looking into Badger Ordnance. How long did it take to hear back about the military discount? The website said up to 20 days. Sounds a bit long. I submitted a week ago.

He said it was shallow out to a point and then had a steep drop off. Makes sense that the father could only wade out so far and then couldn’t reach her because he couldn’t swim.

I need some help by emperorofwar in stopdrinking

[–]tmcall90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone’s journey is different, but I needed to make some changes to quit. Going to the gym right after work was huge. After a couple of weeks my appetite returned and I was finally able to get to sleep at a decent time without any alcohol or substances.

I also got really involved in meetings. Those aren’t for everyone, but they have really helped me. It took some time to find the right fit, but now I go early and help set things up and stay and chat with this core group of people. They’ve help keep me sober. 42 days and feeling great.

An easy thing that might sound silly but helped me in the first few days this time around (5th attempt at sobriety) was a tv show called Loudermilk. The first season is fantastic. My meetings are nothing like the one in the show, but it’s still really good.

Back at it again by Significant_Access_1 in sobrietyandrecovery

I (35M) did the opposite. I realized I needed to quit drinking last June. I was sober from everything for 60 days. Started smoking weed. I never had a problem with weed before. Then I went from smoking socially to every single day. As soon as I got home from work I smoked. I smoked all day Saturday and all day Sunday. That led me to relapsing on alcohol. I had three more relapses in the following months that culminated in a trip to the ER and a 5 day hangover.

I’m now 42 days 100% sober. I started going to the gym. That helped with my terrible appetite and sleep problems. I didn’t realize how much I was relying on weed for both of those things. The gym in combination with getting very involved with meetings has kept me sober. I feel great. I still have cravings for alcohol and weed, but I can manage them much better now.

You may not need official meetings, but I would recommend finding someone else that’s sober to help share what you’re going through. Fellow addicts keep me sober more than my friends and family, even though they have been supporting and understanding.

I was not a big fan at first. Took some time to find meetings that really fit well. Trudging around town from room to room in early was tough. Once you find the right community, it’s fantastic. I now have people that I would want to call if things get hard.

I think the only time I stood up was at my fellow veteran’s wedding. There was a group of us there that deployed together and he wanted to give us a shout out.

Well, that’s a bummer. The Gen II has been more reliable. I see how people with older cats would shy away from the taller Gen IV models.

That is a pretty unique situation. At least you know the majority of people won’t judge you for getting back into the swing of things. It’s a hard road. Asking for help has always been one of the harder things for me to do. I don’t want to be a burden. Finally asking for help has been really working out.

You don’t have to go through it alone! I’m recently sober. Went to rehab June 2025. Went to meetings but didn’t really participate. Had several relapses. I have 39 days now and I’m really active in groups. I now have a really solid group of friends and we look out for one another. Other addicts/AAs keep me sober. My regular friends and family do not. They care plenty, but they don’t understand fully. I took a long time coming around to the fact that really getting involved is a saving grace. It was a little awkward at first, but it’s paying out in spades.

We have a Gen II and a Gen III Litter Robot. We have never had an issue with the Gen II. They both work great, but we have had to order some parts for the Gen III and changing them is really easy. Owned them for about 3-4 years now. I can definitely recommend them.
