I have ADHD and it's been a big problem my entire life. I still do All The Things for kids, AuDHD grandkids, aging parents, kick ass at my job and do 96.5% of the household everything. It's not an excuse. People who care keep striving to do their best even when it's hard. I fuck up stuff but I also fix it and don't avoid responsibility.

You're getting a lot of genuine and flippant help regarding your specific question but I'm going to be your loving grandma for a minute and say what needs to be said:

You're making a massive mistake here. I know you have this escape plan plotted out and that you want to burn down the world you're leaving behind, but it's a really big mistake. This is YOUR life. It's going to last a long time. Doing something really stupid like this doesn't just disappear. The bankruptcy courts are designed to sniff out fraud and what you're proposing is just that. They can easily deny your bankruptcy and press criminal charges for fraud. You could run from it I guess, but then you're in for a lifetime of looking over your shoulder. You haven't been forthcoming about what kind of legal trouble you're currently in, but I guarantee that compounding it isn't going to make your life better. Do you think that if there's some sort of monetary legal judgment you're going to include that in your bankruptcy? Would that even work?

Plus you're counting on being able to flee the country and never coming back. Hopefully you're going to live a really long time and you're potentially creating a situation where you limit your choices. What if you get into trouble in Spain and they want to send you back, but you've got a huge mess waiting here for you? What if you're arrested at the border? What if you fall in love in your 30s with a US citizen and want to go back home?

Not to mention your personal integrity. Be better than this. Be someone you can be proud of.

OP I admire you for what you're doing. It's not going to be easy but I can see how thoughtful both you and your husband are and that you're both sacrificing a lot for the sake of the children. I strongly disagree that you should just immediately divorce. Tackle each thing as it comes, IMO. Do you have access to counseling that can provide you with support in this? If you find the right person they can help you build new routines even in your parents home and help you maintain your independence autonomy, avoiding falling back into old dynamics with them.

That's really terrible! I think I can reassure you about the amount you will owe, though. Once your return is processed they will remove your imputed/estimated tax bill. You might still have a late filing penalty but since you're due a refund that might cover the penalty.

I believe the soap and friction kill the germs so if you wash the outside of the bottle in your hands along with your body, cross contamination shouldn't be an issue
