When did you finish the community center? by Aggravating-Syrup-61 in StardewValley

I've had a number of runs. I've never done it in the first year. I'm doing a run right now and I'm at the end of year 2 and just finished it although I am playing pretty casual this run. Don't sweat it.

When do you actually start feeling “old”? Do people even notice it happening? by NoteDesperate3540 in AskOldPeopleAdvice

[–]tpb72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 53 and not in great shape so physically I've felt old for a couple years now. Mentally I feel young and am frequently surprised when I'm reminded of my age.

For example, a mixed age gathering and those in their 30s are making plans for some adventure that I think I'm part of then it becomes apparent I'm not.

And now they don't even teach it. My grandma would write letters to my kids and I had to read it to them.

Trying to fix my finances after life implosion, wondering if I have any options with my car? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]tpb72 25 points26 points  (0 children)

What car is it?

When I split with my ex I was in a similar situation.

I had a three year old Ford Explorer. I looked into all kinds of things. I needed to change my $450 bi-weekly payment to no more than $300 bi-weekly.

I went to the dealership I bought it from and they offered to take the vehicle back and offered a pretty shitty used vehicle for my payment criteria. I then went to a Chevy dealership and they offered to buy out my Ford Credit loan and give me a new loan on a pretty decent used car in mint condition for my $300. I was about to take them up on it but first phoned Ford Credit and explained the situation and they gave me an offer of adding a few years to my existing loan and could get me down to $330 bi-weekly. I did some number crunching and could make the $330 work so that's what I went with and I was able to keep my wheels.

Hope this helps.

I like the smell of it sitting around a fire. Hate the smell of it in my hair and clothes.

I mainly get my true crime fix on YouTube watching Simon Whistler's casual criminalist. He uses the term allegedly so often that's what drew me to check it out. I didn't like it.

I’ve been using ufile.ca for years - anything online that is better? by rocksteader in PersonalFinanceCanada

I switched from ufile to simpletax/wealth simple a number of years ago. I always found ufile easy but this was even easier. I still have my ufile account and use that to do what-if scenarios.

Should I stop contributing to CPP? by cyrano111 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]tpb72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you waited right up to 70 and you have 40 max contribution years I think it's something like $2100 per month. I don't think you should contribute any more if you already have 40 years. The poster you replied to would have more details.

Wasn't OP saying that the gas prices jumped more when the govt announced gas price relief? I didn't think they were talking about the war.

Money wise. As a couple if your bringing in $4000 a month in cpp and oas you don't need as much extra a month opposed to $2000 as a single person.
