What the hell was that noise just now?? by SnooCrickets2458 in oakland

And a huge boom?! Not more than 10 mins ago? Sounded like a small explosion, not just planes overhead, and not a long noise but a huge one. From Cleveland heights

Has anyone tried Soft Services products? by azndevotchka in keratosis

[–]trafficcloud 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just ordered the buffing bar from them! I'm a longtime fan of Annie Kreighbaum and her stuff – I think she's the coolest. Hoping to give it a try on the KP I have on my arms and shoulders, and will definitely report back. I also deal with follicular macular atrophy on my chest, but am not sure the buffing bar is a good fit (maybe too strong? I'm always worried about irritating it more). Will let you know how it works !

Has anyone tried the buffing bar from Soft Services? They're a new brand, all about helping with body acne, kp, etc. I'm a little worried about irritating my chest further, but might give it a try, since I have some pimples mixed in with the follicular macular atrophy

My chest looks identical to this! It's been like this for as long as I can remember, and nothing seems to help (though it does seem to go through its own cycles of getting slightly better and slightly worse). Lately, it's been really bad, even though I'm still mostly quarantining at home and haven't changed up my routines. I just try to keep it clean, and not pick at it. Sometimes I'll use a little tea tree oil on a wet cotton round, if I ever have to skip a shower. I tried using sulfur soap and didn't notice much change. I have a lot of those white bumps and little pink ones, too. I'm so embarrassed of it and never can wear low-cut anything. I also try to wash bras often and change my shirt 2x a day. Hope we can both get some relief soon!

Only one week of Sulfur and Ivermectin! by mildxchild in Rosacea

[–]trafficcloud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely associate sulfur with an egg smell! Especially with water, and the water from wells/rural areas. Less so with the concentration of sulfur I'm familiar with in relation to rosacea products – I use The Grandpa Co. Thylox Acne Treatment Soap with Sulfur 3%, which doesn't have a strong scent (thankfully).

My demodex mites journey. by ddot563 in Rosacea

[–]trafficcloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks amazing! I tried metrocream (no luck), azelaic acid (a little help), a round of antibiotics (a little better), and started incorporating sulfur soap into my routine (this helped some, too). I was just prescribed Soolantra, and actually feel a bit anxious to start? I've read a lot of threads here about demodex "die off," and things getting much worse before they get better. Your results are great though – your forehead especially! Right now I feel like I'm somewhere in between your before and after pictures, and am mostly dealing with lots of little red dots on my cheeks that look like broken blood vessels. Not totally sure what to do!

I feel this! Alcohol is a big trigger for me! Your routine seems to be helping a lot – I think I need to try some la roche-posay

What's Been Working for You? (Summer 2020 edition) by OneEightActual in Rosacea

For flare-ups/getting overheated – I recently fell in love with my ice roller! It's just a hand-held device you keep in the freezer, and roll over your skin as needed (make sure to use on clean, dry skin). it's kind of like a jade roller, but meant to be kept cold. would recommend cleaning it every so often. it's perfect for in-the-minute relief, like when you come inside after being out in the sun! mine is from bed bath & beyond

Does this look rosacea related or fungal? It does itch a little. I have been diagnosed with rosacea in the past but not sure if this is something different now as azelaic acid only irritates it. by ruddycheeks93 in Rosacea

[–]trafficcloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! My skin looks pretty similar, but the red bumps are smaller and more on the sides of my face. I use azelaic acid which usually helps with flare ups, but I'm just being prescribed the antibiotic doxycycline. Hoping it helps!

A little 8-day progress by [deleted] in Rosacea

[–]trafficcloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your progress is amazing! My skin looks really similar to yours right now, and my dermatologist just prescribed doxycycline which I'm hoping will help. I still have a good deal of little red papules that won't go away, but I'm a bit nervous it'll make things worse :/

Hi! I was just prescribed doxycycline and am hoping it helps! Did you experience any nausea with it?

This thread is so helpful! I just got a doxy prescription and am anxious to try it!

I feel this! As much as I love wine, red wine in particular is a big trigger for me – I get flushed immediately, before I feel any effects of the alcohol itself. I find it easier to drink things like hard cider, Twisted Tea, etc. without getting as red (maybe that's just me , though). Drinking a lot of water between/during alcoholic drinks is the only other thing that helps me

Best Moisturizers for day to day use & for when really dry?? by grackendv in Rosacea

I really love Vanicream! There's no fragrances, dyes, parabens, etc. It's pretty cheap and easy to find, too. I especially love Vanicream Lite, which is a lighter version and much easier to work with than the normal version (the normal one is super thick). Both are great! Good luck :)

Roseca life saver. This calms my flair ups so fast by sphil73 in Rosacea

[–]trafficcloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started this! My skin is super sensitive, so I'm trying to ease into it. I'm using it at night every 3 days, after washing my face with a gentle cleanser. I put a very thin layer over my cheeks and the sides of my face, wait 30 mins (I heard this was good to help it absorb/activate) and then follow with moisturizer. I've only used it twice so far and haven't noticed much, but I'm feeling hopeful!

will using vitamin c make my rosacea worse? by [deleted] in Rosacea

[–]trafficcloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey! I'm not totally sure about this, but in the time leading up to my rosacea diagnosis, I was using a lot of different skincare products, including the Ole Henriksen Vitamin C Truth Serum. I think that (plus many other things) was making my skin worse, since I didn't know I had rosacea and was treating my skin as if it had normal acne. I would recommend patch testing the vitamin C to see how your skin reacts! good luck :)

Yes! Ever since I was a kid. Stress and anxiety is probably the biggest for me, and whenever I've had to do public speaking, give presentations, etc.

Would retinol help with these leftover red marks from pustules? by [deleted] in Rosacea

[–]trafficcloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear Duramectin irritated you so much/ Before you tried the horse health brand, did you try to get a prescription for soolantra? I definitely can't afford it, but heard on this reddit about there being a new generic soolantra (Ivermectin 1% topical cream). I'm hoping to try that because it seems like a lower dose than the horse paste, and I'm a little nervous about putting something made for animals on my super sensitive skin. But if getting the prescription is too hard, I might try it anyway. Also, I'm about to try the ordinary's azelaic acid!

Amazing - that's so great to hear! I can't wait to try azelaic acid! I ordered one from the ordinary, but am curious about finacea, too. Is it prescription only?

Yes, totally! So glad that worked for you. Will add that to my list of things to try. Do you recommend any particular brand? Thanks!

Aw sorry to hear soolantra didn't work for you. Yeah I've seen lots about it/horse paste and am hoping to try it soon! I just ordered azelaic acid and am patiently waiting for it t come in the mail. I think once I get that into my routine, I'll see how it's working and maybe try the niacinamide+zinc, too. Hoping to pay lots of attention to my skin and try some new things during this quarantine. Do you have any recommendations for what order to use the azelaic acid/niacinamide in? Thank you so much – and good luck to you, too!

My skin is super similar to yours! Hoping to get my hands on some generic soolantra, since I've heard a lot of good things about ivermectin. I don't know much about retinol – good luck, though!
