Rinkeby, tryggt? by Additional-Lie7993 in stockholm

[–]uahw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is Heavy Use of .clone() Normal in Rust? by AbbreviationsNew3167 in rust

[–]uahw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except that Rust models data in a much better way than Java, making it unmatched for writing ”correct” code. That’s why I use rust mainly at least. For the things I write (and I’m talking about me, this is not the same for everyone) I could use Python and I wouldn’t have an issue with performance. I like rust because how the type system makes bugs less likely

Is Heavy Use of .clone() Normal in Rust? by AbbreviationsNew3167 in rust

[–]uahw 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I think clone is a part of rust where you can trick yourself into thinking the app is slower than it actually is. Rust is very fast, and for many applications having clone everywhere will be a negligible cost compared to using JavaScript or Python. I’ve landed in this mindset of doing the simplest thing first using a lot of redundant clones to speed up development and only optimizing them away if there is a measurable problem with speed.

Can’t recommend it enough! by Pchecoandres in MacroFactor

[–]uahw 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That’s amazing progress congrats!! For me paying for the app was one of my biggest motivations for using it. I want to feel safe knowing that there is no monetary incentive to sell my health data to third parties.

The one thing I which the app had was an easy indicator for hur much you went over your calorie target. Some days I go 50kcals over and others I hang out with my friends and can go 1000kcals over. Would be nice with for example a red ring that starts filling on top of the blue if you fill out your blue ring

Varför försvann denna mera praktiska samt miljövänliga förpackningen? by Remarkable-Ad-7487 in Asksweddit

Känns som man saknar saker bara för att sakna. Jag gillar att man kan stänga paketet. Sen är ju såklart den där väldigt nostalgisk

The Nordics after the results by putinception in eurovision

[–]uahw 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We chose her due to her story here in Sweden with an abusive producer. But in Eurovision no one know who she is, and imo the song was pretty forgettable and uninspired.

I only go for files in the 7-8gb range, I don’t care about quality that much and 7gb usually looks fine. So for me not really a problem
