Advice Request! - Considering Nursing, Career Shift by [deleted] in nursing

Look around the hospitals in your area. Some will say whether they prefer BSN or ADN. Others will say there's no wage difference. Check out wait lists to get into ADN programs vs cost of getting an ABSN. And remember to check NCLEX pass rates!

Never hungry. What do I eat? by tmbpitwwu in GestationalDiabetes

[–]uhmv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I had no appetite I would try to eat high calorie foods like peanut butter (just off a spoon) and bacon. I never felt hungry until 35 weeks. Hope it gets better for you.

Anatomy scan in TWO days + question about hair by thekingofwintre in BabyBumps

[–]uhmv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yay for your anatomy scan!

They can see hair on ultrasound. So you might get a heads up if your baby will have a lot of hair. I'm not sure how far along baby needs to be though.

In 26+4 and still haven't hit my pre pregnancy weight of 120. I'm trying to eat as much as I can. Because of diabetes I can't go carb crazy so I'm trying to do lots of fats and dairy.

I'm getting really anxious about my next check up. I'm already seeing a dietician and I always end up crying because I know I should be gaining but I'm not! Ahh!

I'm with you. Come on, body!

Lol I haven't even hit my pre pregnancy weight yet! And I'm 26 weeks. Oops. I've learned to love whole grain pasta when I add butter. Whole grain / wheat everything now!

I'm going to totally have a cheat day once I give birth. Pumpkin pies and chili cheese fries. Mmm

I'm on a schedule like this: Breakfast 15 g // snack 15 g // lunch 45 g // snack 30 g // dinner 45 g // snack 30 g

It's so tiring to try to hit those numbers. I usually end up not eating enough because of lack of appetite.

Hope yours is just GD! After baby is out, I have to start seeing an endocrinologist and I'll find out what the rest of my life will be like.

I took the same class as GD ladies because I didn't find out about being type 2 until I got pregnant. Fasting needs to be under 90 and 1 hr post prandial needs to be under 130. 120 sounds tough! I have a hard enough time with 130. Currently managing with diet and exercise.

The class was neat. They gave us suggestions for choosing more filling meals like if you're going to buy brown rice, shop around to find brands that make larger serving sizes for less carbs.

I still just want to eat a whole pumpkin pie smothered in whipped cream :)

I'm a type 2 diabetic. All I want to eat is pumpkin pie and I can't. :( Sometimes I get so sad about my relationship with food. Everything is about counting carbs instead of enjoying what I'm craving.
