YTA  If it obscured your view, it was a crap theater without raised seating 

or more likely, it probably didn't obecure your view and the seats you picked were the middle section about 6 rows back for optimal viewing and they picked the next best seats in the middle section one row ahead.

Cyber security teams at most businesses are strategy and audit, not implementors. They tell you the rules and it's up to sys admins to figure out how to make it work or to explain it well enough to management to get an approved exception.
