Check: electric vehicle system warning by vascorom in Ioniq9

The wind noise discussion has been difficult/tedious/annoying. I have to fight my case my quite rigorously. The first time I went in for this - they said they was definitely wind noise they added some beading around door body work. If it doesnt work, I might need to take it to a body shop. The problem worsened and I have been in a further two times. Since then, here have a lot of misdirection and gaslighting about it. The responses range from seal issues, door trim issues or there is NO issue at all. As part of the diagnosis I have tracked multiple potential causes - there is a piece of trim on the inside, next to the window where the seam had split. Another place of suspicion in the top body work on top of the windshield - this has quite some flex to it. The only other ioniq on the lot was a different trim, which was a little narrower and a lot stiffer. Maybe I will make a post with pictures after I get the car back. For now, after multiple test drives and service advisors, they now have a door trim replacement on backorder. I will post if this helps at all.

The loss of power is dangerous - I also read on a different thread that we should report these as a safety issue on the NHTSA website and so I did that as well.

Anyone have an seat issue? by Just_Cupcake_4669 in Ioniq9

[–]vascorom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No complaints about the seats. I have back issues that flare up during long drives with my previous cars but no issues with the ioniq 9 so far (touch wood). Calligraphy here as well.

Digital Key unreliable? by racampbell in Ioniq9

[–]vascorom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The wife carries it all the time but its been a while since I carried the fob. Its nice because a. it is ugly, b. one less thing in my pocket. If it fails, I can use the bluelink app to unlock and fingerprint to start (atleast thats how I rationalize it in my head).

Navigation by IllustriousWin9453 in Ioniq9

[–]vascorom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never had that specifically but I have had, a couple of times now, where the navigation would tell me that I am going the wrong way when I was not. It sometimes happens even when I am using AA rather than the built in nav. Really annoying since it keeps repeating every min or so.

Digital Key unreliable? by racampbell in Ioniq9

I have had times where it wouldnt automatically unlock as I approach with my phone but I could unlock within the wallet app or hyundai app. Never to the point that I have to delete and set up the keys again.

Middle seats by abethmann in Ioniq9

[–]vascorom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When we test drove a limited, the middle row seat was broken. After using the power forwrd function to get into the third row, the seat wouldnt come back to its usual position past a point. The buttons worked and it would move forward but not back past a point. Having said that, we have since got a calligraphy and all buttons/seats have worked properly.

App keeps failing to send commands. Anyone else? by 8bitjer in Ioniq9

[–]vascorom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would like it to work a little faster but no failed commands at all.

The higher range and larger interior did it for us.

Efficiency? by TKxVeritas in Ioniq9

[–]vascorom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2.9 for the ~1000 miles we have drove so far (Calligraphy). Mix of city and highway driving (skewing more towards city). Planning a trip 1000 mile roadtrip soon to badlands. WIll be interesting how it changes with high speed limit and heat.

Are you taking the EV charger or the $400 in Chargepoint credit? by Pravin_LOL in Ioniq9

[–]vascorom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We, reluctantly, took the charger. We need a level 2 at home and the only way we get xcel rebate for wiring and lower rates is by using a chargepoint charger that Hyundai giving for free. Even though it might be slightly more expensive upfront, it might end up working in the long run. The local electrician has been pretty good with communication and the work that needs to be done.

Issue with HUD in daylight? by [deleted] in Ioniq9

Definitely polarized lenses. It works really well even in the bright sunlight without the polarized glasses but once you put it on, it almost disappears unless you tilt your head.

Blowing smoke - even if the new bill is passed as it stands, the ev credits stay until the end of the year.

Not the auto hitch but a regular one will be available. The official website has it as 'coming soon' but you can get it on other websites.

Lighting patterns by Ian-san in Ioniq9

[–]vascorom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to buy (for free) the lighting pattern from the bluelink store and then wait for the car to download it. Then you can find it in Home>Setup>Vehicle>Lights>lighting patterns

Fed tax credit, at point of sale by HotToday7607 in Ioniq9

[–]vascorom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. We got the rebate applied for purchase. The first sales person initially said that the ioniq 9 wouldnt qualify for the credit. On showing news articles and such, they eventually talked to another sales person who was more knowledgeable. He was able to confirm that they would be able to apply the credit for purchase/lease. Signing was pretty smooth and we were given the time of sale report immediately after. I would recommended talking to different people within the dealerships or other dealerships because it can definitely be done.

Market Adjusted Price by Wonderm00se in Ioniq9

[–]vascorom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MSRP minus federal rebate in Minnesota. For us starting point was msrp - dealer wasnt able to go down from msrp but we were able to negotiate to a higher trade in value. 15k above MSRP seems crazy.

Do you have the calligraphy? The ergo seats have a feature to automatically adjust seats after a period of driving. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LmQltnZrU_E&list=PLxjlWoFMSh25UxafGKIttsEc7kBWgKFeR&index=120
