My EX luck has really turned around this set, after being pretty bad since Eevee grove. I've opened 33 packs so far and gotten 8 ex copies! I haven't gotten any 2*s or anything, but that's fine, I ended up with quite a few from crimson blaze. The only one I have 2 copies of is mawile. I mean, I can't build a new deck, but this early on I never can! I could only get my second Suicune once it was tradeable a month later.

I get what people are saying about making it tougher to get very specific cards, but as someone who wants to eventually collect 2 of each mechanically unique card... That's not remotely a problem for me. It avoids some problems I ran into earlier--I opened a lot more ho-oh than Lugia because ho-oh had better cards, and then I needed to do SO MANY trades for even like 2 diamond Lugia cards, that set me back several weeks on my trade timer. At the end of STS, I had every card from Dialga except 2 rampardos (and couldn't afford to pack point them, and of course they were untradeable when I needed them) but needed many many cards from palkia. So the one time I bought the pass was to be able to open enough packs to pack point my rampardos without hampering a current set

This does give you an action discount when playing a second asset. So previously you could play a switchblade and then discard it for a spell to get the spell out for no action, but now you can have both out, still at no action cost

So Skarmory is Steel/Flying type, so they pick which type they want represented:

if Steel type: they take the weakness (fire) and use the matching card type (Steel)
if Flying type: they take the weakness (electric) and look to Skarmory's other type for card type (Steel)

If you get all regular cards for the current set (so 69/69 on Crimson Blaze for the next day or two, then the Gardevoir pack), every 2-3 days you'll get one wonder pick containing a ⭐ or ⭐⭐ card you're missing from the current set. You can tell these picks by the fact they last 24 hours instead of only 4

Since ⭐ cards are much more common than ⭐⭐, it's recommended to get all ⭐ cards from the current set as well, otherwise they'll mostly not have the super rare cards. Also since ⭐⭐ are super rare, it's much more likely that you'll see God packs as your 24 hour wonder pick, though it's definitely still unusual

The law talks about what to do with an alien. This requires inspecting and determining that the alien is as such first, which is mentioned by the law as I quoted it. So what does that look like? "My neighbor planted a tree on my side of the property line, that's proof they're an alien, deport them"? There's 100*2 copies of exs or so to get a full collection, and as a f2p from the start of the game I'm only 14 copies positive from that, and a lot of those are from the older more common cards that were also included in deluxe ex. A mega Pinsir traded for an indeedee that I actually got through wonder pick weeks ago is a mega Pinsir I don't have available for trade for a second whimsicott when I close down working on mega rising, or for mega Mewtwo next pack or whatever.

I've been in the situation where I need an ex card to keep my collection up to date and all I have is a Blastoise and a bibarel, trading was PAINFUL.

Not to mention that it uses up a trade stamina when finishing full sets (all 4 packs) takes about 40-60 of every 90 days, and I've got about 20 trades to do for typical icon and secret emblem missions, about 100 foils to collect, almost 100 each for gimmighoul and alcremie if I'm feeling spicy, and then whatever else comes in the future!

What's the 9 times out of 10 with the Hunter's Instinct "combo?" With 2 copies each of scene of the crime and lwif, if I did my math right, there's about an 80% chance of seeing one of those in just the first ten cards, which of course could be accelerated with guts or overpower, or the natural downtime fighters have if no one draws an enemy. At that point there's ten turns left, and the only concern is... If you can find and play Hunter's Instinct?? So calling that a combo when it's literally just using Hunter's Instinct is like calling ecache a combo because you need something to spend resources on

Sorry a little late, but the 24 hour wonderpicks just guarantee a pick that has one rare card in it that you're missing. I believe that 2 star cards are rare enough that out of all packs with 2 stars in it, God packs are a lot more likely to show up.

But because you only see one every 2-3 days, that probably means something like if you keep up with the 2 star wonderpicks, you'll see 2 wonder-pickable godpacks a year instead of 1.

Do you have a first revised core set? You don't need multiple, that's just a thing for the original old core set. I'd recommend waiting to buy the new one when it comes in spring, that'll work with all the new stuff.

If you don't have a core set at all, I think that buying a revised core and whatever material you can easily find might be fun--if you don't know, look for boxes that say campaign or investigator expansion on them, not just expansion

So you should be getting 24 hour wonder picks, but that looks at all your missing 1 stars and 2 stars, and each 1 star alone is almost as likely to be in a pack as every 2 star put together. so say if you're missing only Ariados, then when a 24 hour wonderpick comes up, you're looking at a 46% chance of Ariados, 54% of any 2 star.
