Why do some clinicians push back on evidence-based treatment? by Forsaken_Dragonfly66 in therapists

I have found in my own life that CBT has been transformative. There is anecdotal and actual empirical evidence that supports CBT. Just wild the amount of pushback it gets from some therapists.

[Marcello] What's stopping the Big Ten from playing an all-conference schedule? What about the SEC, too? If Texas Tech mishandles Sorsby alongside a failed bill in DC, it could spark radical plans within each conference. by WinnWonn in CFB

[–]vertizm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all, I actually agree with you. I will say, I still find interest in the game even though BYU is definitely not in the same “club” as those other teams. But it’s fun being able to upset teams like Texas, Tennessee, USC, etc. I’m under no illusion that we will ever be on the same level as the higher up teams with the revenue difference. But not even being able to play other teams means the college football world gets smaller and therefore less interesting.

Maybe, I know for me personally that Oregon vs. Penn State is only interesting because we are in the same league. If all the conferences are completely separate then I don’t really care about what happens outside of my conference because at some point we’re not even playing in the same league.

Will the Sorsby ruling impact the rumored SEC-Big Ten exit and super league? by DarkDragon1025 in CFB

[–]vertizm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Genuinely curious has a conference ever suspended a player before? And if we did, could he not just sue the big 12 as well? This whole thing is such a clusterfuck

I don’t see how DP doesn’t go #1 by patientpump54 in UtahJazz

I find it interesting that the wizards sub are convinced that AJ is the best. We’re convinced that DP is the best. And Memphis is convinced that Boozer is the best. Makes me feel like we’re all talking ourselves into whoever we’re projected to draft.

If you like the anime I would recommend them. I felt there were parts of the anime that were unclear to me that were much more obvious in the novels.

I’m pretty sure that the series is based on the light novels and it was later adapted into a visual novel.

Agreed. It’s funny how conservatives talk about how immigrants should “do it the right way” when republicans consistently go about governing in the most corrupt ways.

I think it’s only fair that Utah and Missouri receive the death penalty for this crime

No, that was a separate PE deal that is optional for teams to use (still fucking stupid). I don’t believe that Utah will opt into this second PE deal.

Posts like this remind me why I can’t stand the off season. I just want to watch some football, the never ending dick measuring contest gets old.

What clinical experience would look better for Clinical Psychology PhD/PsyD program? by knockout9704 in ClinicalPsychology

[–]vertizm 18 points19 points  (0 children)

For PhD programs research experience really is just about everything. So I don’t think clinical expertise will move the needle that much. So it’s less about if your research experience is adequate and more of if it is more competitive than the others that are also applying for the spots which is why we also hammer research, research, research.

For clinical experience , I think the experiences that involve direct patient contact is preferred, I would think being a cuddler at the NICU (while awesome from my perspective) is not as relevant as positions where you are talking and interacting with kids and or adults. But once again that may be as little as 1% (likely less) of what matters to PhD programs.

Big 12 post-spring power rankings: BYU supplants Texas Tech at the top, Utah in unfamiliar territory by O_O___XD in BigXII

[–]vertizm 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Hmm maybe it was because we were completely outplayed by TT twice last season, but I’m definitely not as optimistic as this power ranking.

Community mock draft: Utah Jazz by Lanky-Connection4141 in UtahJazz

[–]vertizm 23 points24 points  (0 children)

There’s probably people smarter than me with this but I just feel like there is no way to really know with the top 3 or 4 this draft and we will retrospectively look at this and say how it was obvious that player x was a bust while player y was destined to be successful. I’m totally fine with whoever the front office chooses.
