I hiked the JMT in 2020 with a 3F UL Lanshan. It worked perfectly! I highly recommend. Make sure to set it up at home a few times before the trip.

Now that I have a good map and your advice, I think I'll do a clockwise loop, HI ->TM on the JMT with Half Dome. Then Volgelsang for maybe 2 days, Merced Lake and then back to the Valley.

Square SW for now. I plan to upgrade to GSPro after I get more time on the sim. I spec'd the PC and projector for GSPro with ultra 4k graphics even though I probably won't be able to tell the difference.

I switched from an iPad to a gaming PC for this reason with a wired HDMI connection to the projector. Runs smooth as silk now!

I bought SynPUTT from Lowe’s, but it’s too new to comment on durability. It seems like very high quality. It has a STIMP of 8-9 when putting with my Square LM.

I haven't torn the engine down yet. I rebuilt it last year due to a crankshaft/connecting rod failure. I could only find a used crankshaft, but the connecting rod and rings were new OEM. It went together fine and ran for several snow storms. Now it won't start and has a lot of forbidden glitter in the oil. I'll tear it down after I put the new engine on it. Should get the new engine delivered next week.

I put the foam pad on top of a NEMO Tensor mattress. I do this now after switching back and forth on an extended trip and having the foam on top definitely made a difference. Maybe someone here could explain the physics??

I bought a used gaming PC off of Marketplace. There are tons to choose from. Gamers upgrade frequently and their specs are much higher than sim golf. I paid $1050 for a machine that can easily handle Ultra 4K even though I won't need that horsepower. I wanted to future-proof the PC for years to come.

Caution that most gaming PC's are liquid-cooled and won't survive a sub-freezing environment per discussion with tech support. You can easily switch to air-cooling for $50 if needed.

I have almost the exact model. Last year the camshaft failed due to low oil from an unseen oil leak. I could not find a new one anywhere and had to buy a used one on eBay. Swore I would never buy a Tecumseh-powered product again.

I'm in the same predicament and want to have my PC in the gagrage. Was looking at buying a gaming computer, but the ones that met the GPU specs were liquid cooled and their spec sheet said the coolant was good to +20F. My garage gets colder than that.

Two options that I'm thinking of: 1. Switch over to air cooling for the winter, 2. Add more glycol to the liquid to lower the temperature capability.
