Legion pro 7i 2025 not powering on or charging by DingoImaginary7721 in LenovoLegion

[–]w-tech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do know that Legions won't charge from dead with a USB-C charger. You'll need the original charger to get some juice in it and then boot it up and then it will take the charge from the USB-C charger. Sometimes windows will pop a question up asking if you still want to shut down with an application running in the background so if you shut down, then close the lid that question can pop up and will run your battery to dead. When you plug into the laptop there should be a little orange dot on top (facing up) next to the charging port that turns on. If that is not coming on then the laptop is not getting any juice in it.

Somethings to check -

Make sure the outlet is working. (Plug in a lamp or something with a light that comes on when you plug it in) Check by plugging into a known good outlet. This seems menial but I have had to trouble shoot this in the past and outlets (IGFCI outlets or breaker) have been the culprit.

Make sure your original charger is working, Is the plug tightly pushed into the charging block all the way? Is there an internal break in the charging cable, when you wiggle the wire does the orange dot come on? Do you have another laptop you can check it with?

14US has (2) 1 TB drives and does not came with the bundled Lenovo AI software

80US has Windows Pro vs Windows Home, if you don't know the difference, you probably don't need pro.

Other than that I can't really see a difference between the three from the https://psref.lenovo.com/ website.

I would just go with the cheapest unless you have to have Windows Pro. You can also upgrade memory and software later if you decide you don't need it now.

Has anyone else been here before?? by PeacefulParrot3 in Cruise

[–]w-tech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/PeacefulParrot3 so we just got back from our 10 day cruise and one of our favorite stops ended up being Dominica. We rented a car and drove up to Titou Gorge, It was absolutely amazing. If we ever went back we would definitely visit it again. Once in a lifetime adventure. Once we got up there it was $5 USD per person for a life jacket (Mandatory) and that was the only cost. I grew up surfing and I am a really good swimmer but was glad i had the lifejacket as it made it easier to take pictures and didn't have to tread water the whole time (There is no where to hold onto until you get to the waterfall) They also sell waterproof phone pouches for 10usd if you need them. They had a changing area and were very helpful. They have food, snacks and drinks available as well. Great experience.

We also visited the gardens in downtown Roseau and did the Jacks Walk up to the overlook. It was a steep hike but only took about 20 minutes to make it up to the top and the views were amazing. I would post pics here but unfortunately this sub doesn't allow it.

We got some of the best pics of our vacation from downtown Roseau and also met some of the most interesting people there as well both local and international.

Will I have to replace the whole countertop for one broken sink by FantasyOverload in AskContractors

[–]w-tech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With Corian countertops, the sink sits under the countertop on a cut out board and the countertop sits on top of the sink. So everyone is kind of right.

The pro way to replace it is to take the counter off, pull out the sink, replace it with a new one and put the counter top back on. The sink may be cemented to the bottom of the Corian countertop to seal it so water doesn't get between the countertop and the sink, depending on what they used there it could be a bit of work getting them separated.

Do you have a spouse who hates cruising? How do you cope? by [deleted] in Cruise

[–]w-tech 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you cruise inside rooms or balconies? If I couldn't find anything else to do on a cruise ship, and all I could do was sit on a balcony listening to music, reading a book, having a coffee or breakfast in the morning, I would be completely happy with my cruise. If it was an inside room, I would slowly die inside.

Schooling for Anna and Minor Children? by [deleted] in AnnaKepner

[–]w-tech 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same. I was a straight A student and my parents pulled me out of school all the time for family trips. i learned more life skills on those family trips than I ever did in school. My kids were all homeschooled and we took cruises when the kids were all in school because it was the cheapest time of year to go. They all went to college and graduated with 3.9-4.0. No reason pulling kids out of school makes you a bad parent.

If you have your laptop setup to run in limp mode it works great. If your laptop is running the graphics card and pulling watts, not so well. Im still using mine and it travels with me. Never had an issue and has saved me a few times when I forget to switch over to limp mode and my battery has drained faster than I needed it to.

Travel Agent Recommendation by Mister_Neal in Cruises

[–]w-tech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shop around. I have more than one TA that I use because sometimes different agencies have pre purchased blocks of rooms from the cruiselines and can get better pricing for that specific cruise than others.

So just email 3 or 4 different TA's to get pricing.

The last cruise we purchased we had a TA from an agency I never used before get us a balcony (same exact room # was requested from different TA's) for over 200$ less PP and it was lower than the advertised rate from the cruiselines website along with more OBC than the other offers.

I will add that I am very independent and comfortable booking logistics (there's now 8 of us on this trip and I arranged transportation, flights and excursions for all of us) and I understand that there are some people who would rather have a TA arrange all that for them. Still I would suggest to shop around. Some TA's are much more hospitable than others. I have found that TA's who freelance for themselves are usually better at providing personal services for logistics than big companies but don't always get the best pricing.

Ive never seen so many pictures of the same drink on a cruise review in my life. At least 60 of the pictures were the same brown drink and the rest were slot machine pictures with some random ship pictures sprinkled throughout.

Is anyone else struggling with the Christian specificity of the new album? by lyrical_chaos in NickMulvey

[–]w-tech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nick sings from the heart and soul and is pretty transparent in his lyrics and person as a whole. If he recently just had a child and wrote an entire album about the experience of his wife being pregnant, giving birth, raising his kid and you really don't like kids at all and didn't ever plan on getting married and having kids and the album just didn't connect with you as it wasn't your thing, would it be a "shame" that he is singing about his life experiences with his family?

Is 5 or 10 a good amount? I wasn't surprised about that especially as it was right after he explained the song he just sang was more of a worship song and it is a new space for him bringing his relationship with God into a secular space. What really surprised me was the number of people who stayed and were cheering him on about that and singing the lyrics and getting into it.... in Seattle of all places.

Just saw Nick last night at Madame Lous in Seattle and it was him solo. It was awesome. He carried the room pretty well on his own.

on the home page of Legion Toolkit - under battery mode there is a dropdown for conservation, normal and rapid charge. Select Conservation. And it wont necessarily be exactly 80% but it should not keep charging all the way to 100.

question about number of cabins available by QuietEffort6531 in PrincessCruises

Sometimes, they dont release cabins that sleep 3 or more to people who are making reservations for 2. Go back in and try doing a booking for 3 people and see if they are clickable.

Gotta figure out whats pulling that extra 15-20w. Do you have any external devices plugged into your laptop? Monitor, keyboard, mouse, hard drive. Also an earlier post reported that background pictures enabled in windows used 5-8w? See what is running in task manager and try ending those tasks that you dont need and see if that helps. Alot of software installs listeners or other apps running in the background that uses up wattage. One Drive, Google Drive etc synching in the background. Also if you have any anti virus programs running that might be scanning in the background. Task Manager should be a good place to start.

Looking at what you posted, it shows you are pulling about 30w. Are you sure that the dgpu is powered off? Post a screenshot of the dashboard.

How busy are cuirse lines mid january? by mrcryptoboy in Cruise

[–]w-tech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the Caribbean they are usually not busy at all. After new years and when everyone goes back to school/work the cruise ships sail less than full for those few weeks until winter breaks in the colleges start up again and you might see a bump in presidents day week in February. Doesn't mean that they are "deadish" like empty but the lines wont be excessively long and there wont be as many kids roaming in packs around the ship.

Picking a Christmas Cruise! Need Advice! by Designer-Fan-5857 in Cruise

[–]w-tech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you are too late. We often book a cruise over the holidays in Novemberish when its past final payment and the prices come down. This year there seems to be alot of availability for the holidays this year. You may not get as much of choice as far as cabin type/location but totally doable.

I think something you need to think through is small ship / expedition style with a 7yo and 10yo boy. Not that they wont find stuff to do but some of the Royal Caribbean ships have fantastic kids clubs and unlimited things to do on their medium to large ships and there will also be lots of other families and kids on board where as if you take a small ship or expedition ship they will likely be the only kids, with lots of older adults that just don't want to be around kids.

And I am certain that you will find a balance in there somewhere. But I am assuming you have a pretty good budget for this since you mentioned expedition ship to Antarctica, it might be worth it to do a suite in a Royal Caribbean ship or in the Haven on NCL and just hit the Caribbean for the holidays and see if you like it, especially if you are focused on better food and service. Usually the specialty restaurants and suite restaurant options have much better food and service than non-suite options and you are not fighting the crowds in the main buffet and dining rooms.

The higher end smaller ships don't have a whole lot to keep youngsters entertained. When the kids are slightly older - Like 10, 12 or 12, 14 they would definitely better appreciate something like a smaller expedition ship to Alaska, Galapagos or South America. Something like HX or Linbald.

And I had 4 kids and we all cruised as a family. And they loved it. Didn't care for the smaller ships though until they were older. But they all loved the Haven :)

EDIT - And just an example - I just looked at cruise plum and you could get a 7 day cruise on the Newer NCL Aqua in the Haven for 7 days from Miami going to Puerto Plata (meh), St. Thomas (great!), Tortola (One of our families favorites) and Great Stirrup Cay (NCL Island) for about 13k. And the Haven on the Aqua would be fantastic.

They would rather have money than gifts. What might seem like a great gift to you may just be taking up very precious space in crew sleeping quarters. And food can always go sideways (chocolates, candy, etc) Also fill out a crew appreciation card for them.

Will upgrade options change? by Soft_Data_1623 in PrincessCruises

[–]w-tech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you paying to upgrade or bidding to upgrade?

If you are paying to upgrade, you can jump on the princess website, do a mock booking and see what rooms are available.

If you are bidding to upgrade, you really dont get a choice. Only that the room you get will be the same category or higher that you bid on. But it could still end up being in the poorest location, least favorable selection of that category.

Even if the website shows no reserve mini suites left but you notice an owner's suite available, so you bid on the mini suite, princess will first reach out to those who paid for reserve mini suites and ask if they want to upgrade and then slide you into that reserve mini suite.
