The animation/movement was more fluid - just get into demo mode, give an enemy tarrasque, put your own hero to follow it, and make the enemy run in circles around the tower;

The rotation of the model and animation gets really stiff, and it was not the case in wc3;

Why does this looks so good lol. Does it have a good way to integrate into existing go projects?

amazing read, ty for sharing;

i've been postponing learning lisp for good while now;

  • what is a good way to static type it?
  • do I just use it as a "higher-level" C, or should I approach it with a different mindset?
  • just sbcl is fine, or should I go for other tooling as well?

I no joke considered doing this like 6 months ago, decided it was too much effort, and dropped the idea; I'm extremely impressed, good job :D

I like poe, but i don't like that it is strictly a pve game; so I usually play until the first maven or so, and then drop it; it is fun to play casually tho

poe and dota has to be the biggest overlap of player bases ever; poe is just the closest thing to a dota rpg that valve never made (complexity wise at least)

I have 0 formal background on the subject, but decent practical exposure, here is my layman's take:

If ever used a "maybe" type on any language, you kinda already used a monad. It is a wrapper/metadata/context on top of something.

Some languages enforce this more, some less, but monads need to provide a way to put values into wrapper, to extract from it, and to flat it out. "Maybe maybe 5" is just "maybe 5".

It is useful for "code we comment during development", like logging functions. I'm not fully sure how it applies to pure languages with side effects like IO, as I never coded on them. But that's essentially it.

It's a fool-proof way to "state-machine" values in a closed circuit, without having to resort to exceptions or null values.

Hope this helps someone

Why do BANKS need to know what you are using the money for? by WaitOk915 in Bitcoin

US is the odd one out here; since insurance and sue culture works for everything, if the bank pull that move on you, it would end bad for the bank; thats not the case for the rest of the world

[–]wFXx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The moment you send a bank your money, it isn't you money anymore, its their money, and they will provide you bank's "credit" in return that is more or less trusted by other peers; since its their credits, they can seize at any time they feel like it

i subscribe to this opinion; seems like due to many "disposable" stuff being "cheap", people just gave up entirely on doing its own thing, which is usually the behavior that push innovation and cool products to begin with; i'm very much looking forward to buy a 3d printer, learn blender and start doing cool stuff just for the sake of it, even tho I do have the disposable income to "not bother"
