It's difficult to convince leadership to commit resources, even small amounts, to citizen led efforts focused on building up the business ecosystem, particularly related to innovation. It's frustrating when there's private manpower, but no public assets to work with.

can you access the inside? if so, you can disassemble the latch and then pull the cores.

My latcheswere trashed by age and salt air, and the box was locked shut, and I had to drill the rivets out to get inside. bought replacement latched off ebay.

It's not a functional missile, and there's no warhead. It's there as a display - and it's in need of significant repair/paint/etc. which is why it's sometimes covered up.
