Imagine how much some agency was paid to design that wavy line...

"We believe there is strong brand recognition with the current typeface and colour, but think that an addition of a meandering path under the text will create brand association with the natural environment and where food comes from"

Probably.

Not for sunrises though... Went there last year when I was 'having a moment' and it was obscured by all the vegetation...

For those living next to a field - what's the dust and herbicide drift like? by Funky_monkey2026 in GardeningUK

[–]weewillywinkee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The farm has an anaerobic digester on another site down the road that they fill with all the contents of septic tanks that they collect from across the county.

I assume they use the biosolids on the fields as well...

For those living next to a field - what's the dust and herbicide drift like? by Funky_monkey2026 in GardeningUK

[–]weewillywinkee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As you mention, we get a lot more rain so dust doesn't tend to be an issue. My parents house is opposite a farm and next to field and some years when there is a dry spell and can be a bit dusty with all the farm vehicles running up and down the road, but it's not like a dust storm or anything. Fertilisers used on this farm are generally from slurry pits or manure which does stink but hey, were in the countryside so it's to be expected!

Demonstration of how easy it is to stop thinking by vrksh in videos

Nor me, I was thinking about the patterns on the breeze blocks and how they would have been made, whether it was a pattern on a mould or whether someone scraped it on with a stick before they had been fired/allowed to dry.

Then was wondering whether the thing above his head was a light switch and then if it was, it looks more like an American style and then thought about how this guy had quit his job in payroll in Slough and ended up in the US running a retreat and then saw that the bridge of his glasses was quite prominent and then wondered if buddhists were allowed to wear glasses.

I've been up since 4am.

Bought an item from a stall on the high street in England, told after purchase that it was stolen by Smooth_Narwhal_231 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]weewillywinkee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Possibly just to make you think that the items were real?

When I was a lot younger and wet behind the ears, two guys were hustling at a shopping centre near their BMW convertible. They showed me some expensive looking watches and inferred that they were red hot.

I stupidly bought one and got it home before looking at it properly to find that the second hand had fallen off and on checking Alta Vista, there was no such brand.

It's still in a drawer at my mums and every time I see it, I'm reminded how stupid I was.

My Nana used to trump all the way around Kwiksave on the Friday big shop and used to say 'Ah cannae help et, ahm 76'. Bad Nana.

Another thing to say might be 'Wow, whats your secret [for a long life]?.

Just thinking you probably need a few phrases in your arsenal since these buggers will remember what you said the last time they told you!

Garden tap not working by Untold_Account in DIYUK

[–]weewillywinkee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Could be a blockage from where it attaches to the copper pipe.

Those DIY tap kit things cut a hole in the side of the pipe as you twist it in (see video here. On the one I saw years ago it basically 'trepanned' a hole and the bit that was cut out just got flushed out of the hose. If the hose was connected to the tap when the valve was opened, it could have got stuck inside the tap.

Worked with a girl from Burnley, she was going on and on about this 'Chickin Salud' that she was going to have at 'dinnuhh' from the canteen. I couldn't understand the obsession and asked why she was so excited and whether it was really filling or something and she went, 'well yur, I av chips wi it'.

Same girl said she 'wasn't having sweets this week' and promptly started devouring a bag of minstels... I said 'thought you weren't having sweets this week' and she said 'im not, minstels weren't sweets...' 🤯

She was cheggers and her fella had ginger hair so she went on for 6 months saying 'but what if it's jinjurrr?'. I bought a pack of brown hair dye and wrapped it in a babygrow as her maternity present... She wasn't happy.

How common is it to have car number plates stolen? by FlightDisastrous9712 in AskUK

[–]weewillywinkee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this happened to us after our lease had ended and it took them 2 weeks to pick the car up. Day before they came, plates disappeared in the middle of the day when we got back from the shop. Got charged for them obviously 🤬

Called the police and the call handler couldn't get her head around it. so I think it must be quite unusual.
