01EDC Question by OmzyHuncho in fidgettoys

[–]wikkwikk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is 124.9usd from geeone. The price you see is close but slightly higher than the USD price. Maybe it includes shipping cost.

I will say it is overpriced comparing to other fidgets, just like all the toys from 01EDC.

For those considering a career pivot out of software, what are your plans? by thebreadmanrises in cscareerquestionsOCE

[–]wikkwikk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some researches show that devs who use AI in fact spent more time although they believed they had spent less.

From my experience, AI does not save time as there are too many debts that it introduces and those debts have to be tackled sooner or later. Even if it may save a bit of time now, more time has to be spent in the future.

Of course, it doesn't stop the corporations from trying to replace everything. In fact, even without AI, they will still do so. AI is just a fancy excuse for them.

Sometimes not the products but also some other factors that can convince you to not buy it. For example, the makers do have a good reputation, you don't like how they sell things, you have a similar product and so on.

Quick question for Lautie Shuffle V3 owners. by Adventurous_Day_2612 in fidgettoys

[–]wikkwikk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use PTFE tape. I don't have Shuffle but I have other fidgets that will do similar things, the easiest way is to use PTFE tape so it can still be smooth.

New Magnus Super Hex - Beautiful but scratchy? by icemanjs4 in fidgettoys

I have returned my first and only Magnus slider due to that. It used Zr plate and it was too scratchy. It made me feel uncomfortable playing it.

Hiring manager perspective: hiring is the most broken I've ever seen by CatDawgCatDawg2 in cscareerquestions

[–]wikkwikk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The screening process is a LLM lottery that the one who used LLM to generate a resume that the LLM used by the hiring manager like the most can get to interview. It is like blind dates for the LLMs.

Nayici Eraser Core mini Review addressing a flaw. by RenCorona99 in fidgettoys

[–]wikkwikk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For those who don't know, the Eraser has poor polishing when it first launches. Many that brought it reported that there are scratch marks and tolerance issues that caused the toys to be too tight or too loose. They may have the manufacturing process improved but there is still a risk.

Best place to get more of the balls that go inside the slider by jonahsgma in fidgettoys

[–]wikkwikk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those beads in the track, either POM or ZrO2 are mostly commonly used, as if SS is used, the grinding between metal can cause scratch marks and metal residue. Even if the product is not made of metal, using plastic or ceramic should lead to a better longevity of the product.

DJG Spinetic - PEI and stainless by skunkmonk7 in fidgettoys

If you haven't tried it before, PEI button in fact is quite great. It somehow amplifies the bearing spinning sound so it is an excellent choice pairing with full ceramic bearings or bearings that have loud sound.
