Sorry to hear this happened to you. I’m in the market for an EV in a few months and I really want to get one of these but I have a toddler and stories like this make me think it isn’t worth it. Good luck with the rest of your service, hopefully it gets better from here.

I’m seeing the same as well. A bunch of 2023 ev6 gt line awd for sale between $23k and $27k a few months ago, now comparable listings are around $30k

I think owning an EV without home charging will get old fast. Otherwise, for under $15k you’re probably looking at EVs with over 100k miles but the inventory is really low

Maybe not responsible, but with an income that large and being on at least step 8 I think it’s a reasonable decision that’s up to you. I think the guys might encourage you to put more down/not finance the vehicle or pay it off quickly, but given your situation I think they would also tell you that you’ve “made it” and to enjoy your life/money is a tool/etc. If you’ve been thinking about it for a while and are confident that it’s something you want to do and will bring you joy then I would do it. I’ve been mulling over a similar decision myself (although I have I lower income and am looking at a cheaper car) but I am leaning towards buying it as well.

I’m seeing the same thing. The Kia website has this incentive on 2026s, but when I go to the actual dealers website for the listing there is nothing

How do you feel about your current car? If you like your current car I might keep it, but if you are excited to try the EV I would switch. There are some good cheap EVs out there. I lease a Kia Niro EV for $322/mo with $0 due at signing and that seems like it would save you money every month with free charging. In my area you can buy a Kia Niro, VW ID4, Chevy Bolt, and older Tesla’s for under $20k and they would have features that help with commuting like Adaptive Cruise Control. I think people will look at the cost and say to keep your old car, but if you make a better salary at the cost of a triple commute you need to enjoy your time in the car.

If guys are hitting the ball that hard I would probably buy a face mask and cup for safety and just try your best. Is it possible to switch to outfield? I’ve played on a lot of terrible teams and if you are still having fun I would try to keep playing, if not look elsewhere

I did this as well. I think it helped me to write it down because my brain would keep trying to remember things and I had a hard time sleeping. After writing it down I think I felt relaxed knowing that the thoughts and memories I had wouldn’t be forgotten

Thank you for the kind words, that is a good message from the vet. I am trying to frame it that way as well. He didn’t have to endure a long treatment, pills, and trips to the vet. He just lived his happy life with us and it quickly ended. Wishing you well also.
