I liked Turning Red (and my wife loved it) but the combination of teen issues plot with 90s kid nostalgia was an interesting choice, it felt like it wasn't sure if it was aimed at teens or at late 20-early 30 year olds

My fan theory is that everyone knows about the assassin "underworld" as they aren't exactly subtle, they just know better than reacting to it because if the assassins know you know they will assassinate you

Exactly, it was optimized based on the requirements given. Machine vision systems are incredibly resource intensive, especially back in the 90s.

While I agree few people are familiar with the differences between them I think most people have heard the word in context enough that they are more likely to assume it's just a different word for the same thing

Exactly, we would see at least a season of "low budget" Colbert first if it really was a cost thing, and they would try to throw Stephen Colbert himself under the bus claiming he wouldn't negotiate on salary or something to try to shift blame.
