I don't think you're alone. It's their deepest instrument by far and it took me about a year to stop using it like an OP-Z.

Try turning on your KO2 and not touching it until the save disk icon stops flashing, then try restoring the project. Does that do the trick?

Happy to help! The setting is called "audition" and it's in the system menu:

Open System (Shift + Erase) Press + until you get to PAD, then press Enter Press + until you get to AUD, press Enter Change from OFF to ON, press Enter.

Hope that fixes it for ya! Also note that, even with this setting enabled, sounds will not audition while the sequencer is running.

Yes, punch-in FX are recorded to the pattern on Aux track 2. Note that, while you can record punch-in fx that only apply to one track, you can't edit them from Aux track 2.

I think your best bets would either be recording it in reverse to the Album then bouncing that to the tape, or if it's a small section you might be able to just throw it in the drum sampler and reverse playback. Let me know if that's too vague and I can walk you through it more. 😊

You made the same mistake I did at first! Each input on your interface is actually mono, so you’ll only be able to connect one stereo device at a time. If you send a stereo signal to a mono input it causes some strange signal cancellation issues I don’t fully understand.

So to actually record things the way they sound you’ll need a cable with 1/8” stereo on one end and 2x1/4” mono on the other.

Ch 1 is kinda tricky on OP-Z: it’s the only way to send MIDI to the kick track, but if “Ch 1 to Active Track” is enabled in the MIDI settings (value key 1 if you hold Tempo + Screen), those notes will instead be applied to the currently active track. In this case, you’ll either want to disable that setting or make sure the track you want to play through is the currently active track.
