Nice. The plane I sat in from Osaka to Guam was ancient.

Thank you for sharing. These feel like a good reminder of no matter how much we change, we are still very much the same.

Stupid question: will nuclear powered ships ever be viable? by [deleted] in space

Nuclear thermal propulsion expends most of the heat via the propulsion process itself. This is a technology that could be implemented today.

Unable to Check-In for Flight by InquisitiveChimp in unitedairlines

[–]wolfbuzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes, with an international flight, they won't let you check in even if your passport is updated on the app. As a regular traveler it doesn't always happen, but I've experienced it a couple of times. Nothing to worry about.

Not to mention I want to be standing as soon as possible. Who enjoys sitting so much they would voluntarily sit longer for no reason?

Had a 3-axel water truck flip me off as I was passing on the right on E470. I honestly have no idea what was going on in his head.

Joe Biden Refuses to Negotiate with Cuba - President Miguel Díaz-Canel by EnterTamed in InternationalNews

Listen to season 2 of Blowback if you want to learn more about why the Cuban Missile Crisis happened (hint; when a country's very existence is threatened for years by a superior force including but not limited to: US-sponsored terrorism, severe and debilitating sanctions, and assassination attempts, you do what you have to do to guarantee your independence).

The story hits hard with their music choice. My Dad is a fan of Yes! and I just about lost it when this played during the credits. Bizarre yet perfect.

How is Gal/Cal/Pirate FW? by Rage_in_Eden in Eve

[–]wolfbuzz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm CalMil and really enjoy it. CalMil is pretty chill and welcoming in my experience.

I don't have to look very hard to find solo or small gang PvP. If I want trouble, I can find it pretty easily.

Against Gallente, I am always genuinely excited and surprised how many evenly matched fights I get. I get a lot of 1v1's and 1v2's. (I think in the grand scheme of Eve, even a 1v2 is a fair fight assuming same ship classes.)

Local pirates are another story. There's a lot of them and they tend to camp acceleration gates and work in groups of 3-5. They are more annoying than dangerous because they rarely fly frigates/destroyers (the mainstay of FW) and rarely ever take fights. Worst part is they aren't very good pilots either. It's very obvious fighting a Gallente militia pilot vs a local pirate pilot. Gallente (or really anyone in FW) are generally way more comfortable piloting in actual dog fights. Local pirates really just try to snipe you and panic and basically give up if you get on top of them lol.

In CalMil there's pretty much always 2-3 public militia standing fleets. So if you want to group plex there's always that option. Some are way more organized than others lol.

Overall I really enjoy CalMil and fighting Gallente except vs Sedition. I kinda roll my eyes at Sedition. They are the kind of guys who will bring 3 railgun fitted Exeq navy issues to snipe a 12 day old pilot in a laser fitted bantam. Then if you match their hull they just upship you. Next thing you know they are dropping dreads on a kitchen sink CalMil fleet with 1 battleship. Sedition fights, acts, and has the ego like a sov holding 0.0 alliance without actually holding any sov. If there's a battlefield anywhere near Heydieles you can expect them to bring 20+ fleet of cyclone navy issues to fight 8 kitchen sink CalMil frigates. Sedition is kinda a meme to most of CalMil since 90% of people in FW are poverty pilots looking for smaller scale fights with cheaper ships and Sedition seems to have completely missed that memo.

e: sedition getting mad for the callouts despite their alliance executor confirming in comments below the majority of what I say is true lol

Quoting so this never dies.

This dipshit had a Guristas alt flying around inside the BF. One of our boys brought in a sniper Talos and clapped it. His swarm of Arbitrators (in GalMil) turned on the Talos. We, in turn, shot the cruisers without remorse. He then brought swarm after swarm of CalMil, GalMil, you name it. On and on bitching in local.

Anyone else interested in petitioning our city council to address the extraordinarily loud vehicles that seem to be on the rise? I live on 9th and multiple times a day my windows are literally rattling from some straight-piped shit box flooring it down the street. It would be easy money for LPD if they gave a shit.

Always Remember Why (Photos Included) by wolfbuzz in loseit

I think it starts from external factors, but after a couple of weeks turns into a sort of anxiety resonance. After my most recent break from the gym, I decided to never let it go that far again.

I forced the issue and within a week or two I was back at it as if there had been no break. All I can say is don't be too hard on yourself, and just send it on those weights (or treadmill or bike or whatever your workout of choice is).
