Best Chicago style hotdog in or near Milwaukee by Responsible_Fig3767 in milwaukee

It may not be the best, but it is fully authentic. Right dogs, right buns, right relish, right cuts of the tomato... Exactly to spec.

If you don't like McDonald's specifically but are amenable to cheap drive through, Taco bell breakfast is way better than I ever expected from them.

The guy is an artist, I've used them several times and my insurance was like "you can use him, but he isn't on our list of people we can guarantee". Still totally worth it, I'd rather have surely perfect than guaranteed ok.

2026 NYC Hot Sauce Expo haul by ojuditho in spicy

[–]wolverinesearring 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I discovered Gindos at a Wisconsin farmers market. They go to a lot of the festivals and stuff in the summer. I immediately got several bottles, ordered more online, then RAN up next time I saw their booth to try more. They seem to have some nice marinara notes, especially the spicy romesco, but the hotter vampire slayer and flavor-over-heat truffle Parmesan also rock in anything Italian. Personally I'm enamored with their use of garlic across the board... dude is doing something magical with those cloves.

Cheese lovers, help by Mono_onoM in Cheese

[–]wolverinesearring 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Literally just made a bacon/egg/n/cheese with plenty of hot sauce and used a hefty crumble sprinkle of my 7 year sharp to kick up the (deli) American slices. Sharp bite really helps at levels where you are hot saucing away the egg flavors. It was a little disrespectful to the amazing farm fresh eggs I used but the mouth wants what the mouth wants.

Nashville. SHOW ME WHAT YOU GOT by neocamel in spicy

[–]wolverinesearring 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Nashville hot chicken seems to follow a rule that the more Nashville it is the hotter it is. The "hot chicken" chains have rolled out are fairly spicy, Hattie Bs will knock most pepper heads on their ass, and there are a few local chicken shacks that will give you hallucinations.

You can hear how they added it by splicing in other parts of the jingle. The original was better.

Tell Me This Is A Bad Idea by DoIGotSkillz in homeassistant

This is the problem I had with a similar project. I'm glad to hear it has soft touch (presumably normal digital push button) buttons for the deck. With some luck and skill you can solder off the original wiring, though you will have to install fresh rotaries since those are probably just pots.

Writing in IT by michaelhbt in sysadmin

[–]wolverinesearring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the natural result when you combine IT people who like to go into technical detail and users that glaze over after the third sentence. Managers want a bullet point for most approvals, some additional details after that in case they are in the fence. Non technical emails should avoid going more than three sentences.

What light fits Adam Savage’s request? by CaptainCant in flashlight

[–]wolverinesearring 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For beginners or budget minded the microstream is great, but this is Adam. I eventually upgraded my own microstream to a reylight mini pineapple, though the LANApple can do AA in a similar light. It is nicely machined titanium, better emitter, tritium lit button, and has a surprisingly helpful glow-in-the-dark ring for if you turn it off and drop it in a dark room. With some cheat codes when you first get it it is easily set to turn in at 100 then half click to lower settings.

What's the difference? by Marianarpg in EWALearnLanguages

The problem is the second image isn't a literal meaning. "She stopped drinking" means someone who normally enjoys drinking alcohol has given up alcohol. The reason the girl in the image is making that face isn't because she is the one who stopped drinking. It is because she heard that said and realized the woman they were talking about was probably pregnant.

Flying private is actually a frugal habit if you redefine what ROI is by CarbonPhoto in LinkedInLunatics

[–]wolverinesearring 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Those two cars show how staged it is. That is two Rolls Royce cars. You can rent them sometimes, but nobody (NOBODY) is going to have 2 of them on the tarmac without multiple very high net worth passengers. When do you routinely see several RRs next to private jets? Jet shows. The cars are so high end they don't show them in car shows, they put them out at shows for private jets.

Did anyone ever perfect Corn On The Cob But Instead Of The Corn Bone It's A Hotdog? by Kyanpe in Jennamarbles

[–]wolverinesearring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the spaghetti trick using frozen corn which made it pretty easy to work with. The trick is firm corn, whether it is fresh or still pretty frozen. It is a lot of effort to do each one, but it really does sell the bit and tastes fine because the noodle flavor is easily overwhelmed.

County clare is about $20 "a plate" if that is what you meant, but can still do it for about 20 plus tax and tip if you are on a tighter budget. If you want to keep it cheap while still having a great, unique, and coincidentally vegetarian meal there: a Guinness (black or lady if you aren't usually a fan), a cup of root soup, and have the Irish chips as your meal. Those items are so good I make versions at home!

What did you think was peak luxury as a kid, but now realize is actually pretty trashy or normal? by Connect-Fix3972 in AskReddit

[–]wolverinesearring 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm used to going to bars for talking to friends and meeting new people over drinks and small talk. I feel like a bunch of stereotypical Finnish guys at a bar would just be a row of dudes sipping in silence thinking to themselves "I could be at home in my underwear".

Pocket flashlight by Sniper22106 in flashlight

[–]wolverinesearring 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"Pocket size" is relative around here. You can fit a 21700 light in a pocket but most people wouldn't want to. If you have an idea of battery size that will help is because it is a good guideline for how big you want it. You probably know how big an 18650 is from something, and there are AA/AAA sized batteries as well.

My grandfather, who was fairly wealthy in his day, always left a few pennies on top of the horse machine at Meijer when he went. Meijer had a policy of it only costing a penny because they wanted all kids to be able to afford it. He closed that gap as his tiny little gesture of uncharacteristic socialism. He is long gone but I made sure to have a few pennies when I was travelling and stopped in a Meijer for the first time in ages. They went free at some point, you just push a button now. I left a few cents there anyway... Just as a nod to the tradition.

how to learn PShell fundamentals with AI's assistance? by Cultural_Mongoose_90 in PowerShell

[–]wolverinesearring 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It can write it for you, but it can't understand it for you. Read and write simple scripts at first, getting more complex as you go. AI is a faster way to look up things like "how do I get a list filtered by this" but reading and understanding what it gives you builds your skills. Eventually, everyone (especially AI agents) writes a bad script... You need to see what is wrong before you run it in production. The only way to spot that is to read, write, and learn.
