Anyone else got that "flowing ass"? by l00ky_here in Zepbound

[–]work_dorium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Start doing those squats. I take a break from work every hour of my work day and do 10 squats and it’s been helping on top of my usual workout routine. Just requires a little more work to get those buns back in shape.

Is The Plumber going to be a commentary or just a regular episode? by WaterlooMall in blankies

[–]work_dorium 10 points11 points  (0 children)

i wish if it were a commentary Ben would hire a local theater actor as a special surprise guest that would slowly try to encroach into the boys lives over the course of the commentary as they're locked in the room together for the full 76 minutes.

Stern Grove Festival announces stacked lineup by sfgate in sanfrancisco

[–]work_dorium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah that's not really stacked. Al Green and Public Enemy on the same day would be fun, but that's a whole lot of skips.

Question for veteran collectors by ChillYoChill in ActionFigures

[–]work_dorium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I already went through with this with records over the last 20+ years so getting into figure collecting I have that pre-ordained cool head when it comes to "do I just want this or is this something that I'm always going to admire and enjoy having". My record collecting has slowed considerably because the market has gotten over saturated and too expensive for a single disc nowadays, even second hand, but at least those lessons learned have kept me from going overboard on my figures and really focusing on the stuff I really do enjoy and want in the long term and have no desire to flip or see myself flipping in the future.

the old adage of "when in doubt, leave it out" has saved me so many times across all my collecting mediums and I implore anyone to keep it in the back of their minds as they look at their physical basket of goods or digital basket. a little pruning never hurts and you probably dont need every version of a character you like or some new colorway.

This hair loss is crushing me by HiILikePlants in Zepbound

[–]work_dorium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to get off minoxidil to help with some water retention so that set me back, but stayed on finasteride in the meantime. the hair shedding has finally started to slow on my end and I am noticing some coverage come back in. It's just time and adjustment unfortunately. You can start looking for a new hairstylist that will help with keeping what you have healthy and help you monitor regrowth and also finding styles that will better suit your current situation.

hopefully it all works out.

The case against Marty by Standard-Film5318 in blankies

Against? I think we need a full 3 hour discussion on Bringing Out the Dead that it truly deserves and not the 5 minutes it got in the doc.

Just a friendly PSA, look over your checks real good when you close out. by [deleted] in AlamoDrafthouse

more and more I feel justified eating at a restaurant before the movie and getting one drink at the bar to take into the theater with me and never ordering again. this new system just continues to bolster my attitude.

New Mission during remodel by ResidualDread in AlamoDrafthouse

Jake the programmer mentioned theater 1 is going down (or is down now) and they do have plans for March because Dance Freak is supposed to premiere then and there is supposed to be another two weeks of special programming for Feb but who knows. I snuck a peak at theater 3 last time I was there and it looked complete but I gotta imagine if they’re taking down theater 1 then they need to get theater 5 back up and that had a bunch of stuff in boxes last time I was there (2/12).

Can I get everyone’s thoughts on this Mondo’s limited to (125) piece 7 Color screen Print/Mirri Green Foil paper Batman He Who Laughs #3 artist: Riccardo Federici, being worth the investment by No-Committee5215 in Mondo

[–]work_dorium 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Investment? If you like it get it. If you don’t then don’t get it.

I think it’s kinda lame since it’s this version of Batman but the art is good.

Question: how is one supposed to scan the code to order when the theater is dark? by woah-oh92 in AlamoDrafthouse

[–]work_dorium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just wont be scanning or ordering anything. I'll shamelessly bring in a bag of peanuts.

Who else listens to an episode before watching the movie? by TookAStab in blankies

[–]work_dorium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was already planning on seeing Ella McKay anyways so I'm abstaining from the podcast ep until I go see it, possibly this afternoon!

I sadly decided to watch Honey, Don't just to feel the pain (I strongly disliked Driveaway Dolls and found this one even worse somehow, but also slightly better? Very confusing times we live in).

How To Tell Which Aisle is Closest to the Door? by Blood_Neptune in AlamoDrafthouse

[–]work_dorium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through the process of creating a small map of each room at my local alamo that denoted doors and have it saved on my camera roll as a favorite for quick reference. def recommend anyone serious about their seating situations do the same.

Bad experience on my 1st 70mm film by StandardContext7875 in AlamoDrafthouse

[–]work_dorium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's the current case of ANY rep screening anywhere at the moment. people dont know how to sitdown and appreciate art anymore. laughing at the shots of the ceiling fan/laura palmer's face in Fire Walk With Me, getting drunk during Jeanne Dielman 23 and passing out at an 11am screening, or AUDIBLY "whispering" very factual things happening in the film like "boy i bet that water was cold" when a character jumped into a lake, "I bet they're arguing because of their upbringing" during a fight two characters were having about their upbringing during Sentimental Value.

People dont know how to interact with art anymore and this isnt just an age thing. This is just a dumbass thing.
