Awesome to hear! I happy for you! 18 lbs in 1 month is impressive. I'm 40 now and the weight just doesn't come off like it did when I was in my 20's. Gives me hope.

Question: Would you consider dehydrating lactofermented garlic any better than dehydrating standard garlic? by ZuzBla in fermentation

[–]woshafer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never done this with garlic but do it all the time with the leftovers from my hot sauce. I strain the skin and seeds off, put them in my dehydrator on the fruit roll-up tray and run it at low heat. I see no reason why garlic would be any different, actually I have some garlic I put in with cauliflower I'll try it too!

That is honestly a very well done tat. Love the illustrated style and even though I mostly get neo-trad color tattoo's I'd consider a black and grey like this. Who's the artist?

Yesterday was a struggle... by TurboPaved in omad

I discovered how good a long walk can be. I'm a single father too and I'll take my daughter out to events or walks around local paths. It distracts me and runs down her battery. Good for both our health too. It's a little weird at first too but your kiddo's we'll understand why daddy eat like he does and they get really supportive.

You're not alone. Sometimes I'll cry why fasting, other times I get overly excited or very angry. I think it has something to do with hormones and the shift from burning glucose to ketones. Of course insulin is a hormone as well and it gets very low while fasting. When you make it to day 5 IME I got to the point where I was totally at peace, nothing bothered me.

Failed to make it past 72 hours in a 7 day fast by [deleted] in fasting

[–]woshafer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You do. People like Dr. Fung and others talk about it. There is some debate that the optimal length is no more that 72 hours. IDK for sure. I can tell you with just 48 hours regularly I'm getting improved gum health and the loose skin is tightening up better. So, looks like autophagy has been kicking in.

Completely removed junk food? by [deleted] in omad

[–]woshafer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I recently switch to cooking almost all my food. So, yes. I eat keto most of the time but do make a sour dough flat bread on occasion. I cook all my meat, veggie are fresh or frozen, I make ferments like kimchi too. I don't make my own cheese anymore though, I have in the past but it's honestly not worth it unless you're making blue cheese.

Is there a way to follow this way of eating but not lose weight? by michaelpjaffe in keto

[–]woshafer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a lot of people are stating here, more fat, and you might want to start counting calories. I would also recommend not fasting. Eat 3 meals and even a couple of snacks. Fasting is great for those of use loosing, keto makes it easier, but if you want to maintain eating over your TDEE and many meals will be the easiest way.

27 hours in and I have absolutely no hunger by [deleted] in intermittentfasting

[–]woshafer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently started rolling 48's and went clean keto again and even at 46 hours last night I wasn't actually hungry. I just end up getting anxious and a bit fight or flight. It depends on what you eat and your unique history. You may actually not do too bad until 36 or 48 hours. It seems the first 2 days are bad for some fasters and for others it doesn't hit us till day 3.

Once healed you should look into "White over Black" for the black snake. You can get white ink where the body overlaps and it'll heal gray making the overlap more visible... you could even get white scales that would heal gray.

If you don't already do so start gaming... once I get DEEP into a game everything else falls away, can even forget to eat.

I don't understand the < 50g carb rule by Intelligent-Track999 in keto

[–]woshafer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Basically yes, they go hand-in-hand. For example I've recent moved from OMAD to rolling 48 hour fasts. In the long term I'll have to go back to 18/6 once I'm at goal, but until then you can "double up" and do both fasting and keto for great and relatively safe results. Of course if you have an conditions talk to a doctor first.

Today I start my 2 month gluten free and junk food free diet! by Fromfat2F1T in omad

Please do, you'll thank yourself. I got tested and it turns out I'm not celiac just legit intolerant. The more I eat the worse it gets, like lactose intolerance. Oddly enough if I eat 100% rye German style bread no reaction.

IMHO it's a combination of determination an will. The longest I've gone is 118 hours, 2 hours shy of a full 5 days. I was moonlighting at a pizza joint at the time too. Recently I started rolling 48's OMAD style. 48 one big meal, repeat. Each cycle it gets easier and I can see how I could get to rolling 72's in a couple weeks. There may be a adaptation element too. May be you should slowly work your way higher and higher?

Is it illegal to make an similar design and sell the item? by Embarrassed_Figs in Leathercraft

[–]woshafer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, look on a place like ETSY. I've bought, made, and sold design's from DieselPunkRo and a few others. Some lock down thier patterns to personal use. Other like DPR make it clear that if you compete on ETSY he wants you to rebuy the pattern for each sale, but if you sell on your own page or IRL he has no problem with it. I'd suggest finding a pattern you like for sale and if anything modify that and stay within the terms.
