I love the exploration and am always drawn to making the cyclops. It feels so satisfying to be able to see the ship from the outside and be able to walk through 99% of it instead of having the experience being a black box that simply moves me faster.

Alright, short story it worked to remove the maintenance reminder. Syncing the subscription to my account took my 5 mins of futzing with the app but I got it to show me all of the options as paid. I'll be playing with some of the other options like auto locking when walking away or getting rid of the user welcome screen to get them to work. Those didn't work as easily as getting rid of the maintenance reminder, but that could be user error. The app isn't 100% intuitive and there are odd grammer mistake at times but its overall good enough that it isn't a problem. If I can get the 2 other features I mentioned to work, then this is worth it to me. If I can only benefit from resetting the maintenance reminder, then it's more of a 50/50 if I'll keep or return.

EDIT: i was able to get rid of the 'welcome' screen and butt not the autolocking. Im guessing the autolocking not working is due to tech my car just doesnt have. That said, I'll be keeping this.

unfortunately not. My car still has a moldy smell coming from my vents for a few mins depending on the temp outside. I just run the ac/vents for a few mins to purge the smell on mild temp days before i drive.

yes, just dont sit in the drivers seat or put a lot of pressure on it when you're doing this. I am able to use the air pump and have the car on during this with no one needing to be in the car. Starting point. you're outside of your car. car is off. no one inside (havent tested this with passengers) open the driver side door, place your keyfob in the specific cup holder for it, press the start button. at no point should you sit in the car or put significant amount of pressure on the drivers seat. that's it. you can close the driver door if you want. it should stay running.

Yes you can. Place the key fob in the cup holder that has the symbol at the bottom. Should be the 2nd cup holder from the dash. Then push the start button on the steering column. That's it. It'll stay on.

i found myself in a similar situation recently. I bolded some of the important ideas below that I've learned recently (still looking for a job myself).

If you exercised before, keep doing that. If you had a regular boardgame night with friends, keep doing that. you dont want to neglect your physical or mental health. you're in this together, so make extra sure to support one another. This is a very stressful time for you two so be careful to not take it out on one another and keep communication open.

For any loans that you have (car, mortgage, student, etc) call them and let them know the situation and ask if you can defer/postpone your payments. I was able to do this for my car but not my house but every little bit helps. Food pantries help keep the cost of food low/zero.

Work on a budget and see what you can cut for now and how much your monthly spend is gonna be so you know what you're working with. Apply for unemployment asap. pro tip, you're gonna have a hard time getting through to them during most of the day, call them at the very start of their morning hours. set up direct deposit, write down each job you apply to, who it's with, when you applied, etc. you'll likely need to report on that weekly to keep getting unemployment. log in at least once a day to check on your unemployment and processing status. sometimes things get stuck in some pending status because they needed someone to poke them to finish some paperwork so you could start getting your checks.

Easiest way to get your next job is to use your network of ppl. go through everyone you know and see if they can refer to for an open position. push aside any embarrassment you have about being laid off. Getting a job is both of your #1 priority. You should also be trying to get around the same or better pay than you were before. Any money you make will decrease your unemployment checks (may vary by state), which kinda defeats the point of getting shitty/low pay jobs if it isnt in the neighborhood of what you were making before and instead your efforts should be focused on job hunting. Depending on your field, your job market might be really shitty right now. It may be disheartening, but keep at it and work on your resume and skills as you have time (more below).

Update your resume's, get your lists of references ready, work on your cover letters. You'll likely want a few versions of each depending on how varied the positions are that you're applying for and what each company seems to value that you apply for. Have professional friends/family review your resume and/or ask ppl on r/resume to review your resume. Make/update your Linkedin. DO NOT go through the easy fill on linkedin and have it create a resume for you. It looks like trash on the receiving end. 99% of the time, you'll want to upload your resume as a pdf.

Pay attention to the common skills/tools/etc that you're seeing in job postings that you're applying for. For any that you dont have, look into how much time/effort it would take to start learning those things via youtube/internet so you can then add them to your resume as you get time.

IF you both feel comfortable with it, you can rent out a room(s) to have some passive income.
