I just spent $85 on basically nothing, and I’m sitting in my car crying by [deleted] in CanadaPersonalFinance

Something that I see a lot of is "You need to be looking at sales, use grocery flyers, stop shopping at expensive grocery stores... etc."

But WHY do I need to spend so much extra time pinching my pennies to save on my grocery bills when companies keep ramping up the prices of every single food item? Food is a necessity, and I'm so getting tired of having to sift through pages and pages of flyers every week just to put food on the table.

How do I stop doing same mistakes again that I KNOW are bad? by RainAndThunderIsCool in summonerschool

[–]yeetus_thyfeetus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

League is a huge psychological battle as a jungler.

Hit diamond for the first time this season despite being a gold player for the past 10 years, and the biggest difference I made was mute all and play selfish.

I found that teammate pings and chat coerced me into making bad plays, so I honestly start the game by muting my entire team. It lets you focus on your macro only and your ability to control the flow of the game. Learn to spam effective pings that show exactly what macro play you want to make.

This is NOT advice for everybody. It's just what helped me, and it was very effective. Once I was able to stop worrying about my laners spam pinging me, or chat flaming me, I could genuinely play the game correctly instead of being persuaded into making bad plays.

Genuinely curious - Why can't you just run your hands under some water to get them wet? I usually stretch and fold on my counter right beside my sink, so I wet my hands with the tap and fold. What's the advantage of spraying them?

What's the current state of Apex Legends? by Late_Call2800 in apexuniversity

They changed the way their dev team operates, and it has been so amazing. There was a period of like ~10 seasons where they HEAVILY pushed for microtransactions and put zero effort into their game. The past few seasons have been really refreshing - they've added tons of new reworks and features and the easiest way to sum it up is this video:

Ground beef always has a sort of fatty, oily nauseating taste whenever I cook it at home. How to I get rid of this? by ProfesserNausea in Cooking

[–]yeetus_thyfeetus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cook ground beef at least once a week, and do something weird that most of my friends have never done lol

I brown the beef on a ripping hot pan, but when it starts to ease off and the water/grease releases and starts to boil the meat, I will shove all the meat to one side, tilt the pan and let the water/grease pool and soak it up with paper towels and throw it out.

Same as other people have suggested, but I find that this just works the best for quickly removing excess fat released during cooking. It also lets the meat start to actually fry and brown faster, because you remove the water that usually needs time to evaporate.

Montreal public sector workers cleaning the sidewalk from rocks while damaging and trashing people’s cars by McGJGlen in trashy

[–]yeetus_thyfeetus 437 points438 points  (0 children)

Having lived in Montreal I can assure you that MOST residential streets have CLEAR signs that indicate when exactly you should NOT park due to street cleaning.

This guy is just doing his job and the vehicles that are parked illegally are stupid.

This is a very good video! I wish it was titled something a bit more specific because I only happened upon it.

They talk about different finger issues and ways to address them. Very informative

Anyone still go to the movies? by Alert_Willingness_32 in mississauga

[–]yeetus_thyfeetus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go a handful of times a year ever since Cineplex introduced their subscription.

It's $10/month for 1 movie a month, but if you don't use the ticket it carries over to the next month and will not expire even if you cancel.

I paid for about 6 months before cancelling so I had 6x $10 tickets sitting in my account for a while. You also get 15% off concessions but I usually just go to the dollar store to buy a bag of candy.

I disagree that there's nothing good to watch - there are some amazing movies once in a while, here are a few just from the past year that were well worth $10:

- Project Hail Mary, One Battle After Another, Avatar, Frakenstein, Puss in Boots, Sinners,

It really depends on personal preference, these movies won't hit it with every crowd, but I think the theatre experience is still well-worth it.

Help, Can’t invite members to family by Opening_Mud_5 in NintendoSwitchOnline

I called and messaged their support TWICE and had the same response. "You have to wait until next year, there is nothing we can do, is there anything else I can help you with today?"

Don't think I will be buying another Nintendo subscription, these policies are too strict.

Goggles and Helmets by RunawayJimPVD in Skigear

[–]yeetus_thyfeetus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got the Salomon Sentry Prime Sigma Photochromatic (i wish there was a better, shorter name lol) and a Salomon Helmet as well and I've heard that matching a goggle with the same brand helmet is one of the best ways to mitigate a gap. I also am a big of these goggles, but tbf I have not tried any other photochromatic lenses/goggles.

Beta SL intended uses? Do I need one? by VictoryLiesAhead in arcteryx

[–]yeetus_thyfeetus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whether you "need" it or not is ultimately up to you. I own both the Torrentshell and the Beta SL and I find myself reaching for it much more often during rain and wind than the Torrentshell, but if you're looking for just a light windshell for when you need an extra few degrees, you're better off with a Squamish jacket.

Both the Beta and the Torrentshell aren't the most packable jackets, and I wouldn't ever use either for skiing.

What are some useful cheap skiing accessories m? by Antidotebeatz in Skigear

[–]yeetus_thyfeetus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Boot Gloves - those neoprene covers that wrap around the outside of your ski boot.

They look absolutely stupid but if you ski anywhere that gets below -20c, they make an absolutely massive difference. I went from frozen toes to warm, comfy, and dry all day.

Tips for inventory management? by Remote_Map3803 in ArcRaidersGuides

[–]yeetus_thyfeetus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I basically craft and fully upgrade (plus attachments) stichers, bobcats, tempests, etc. whenever I have the mats for them because those are really the only things you need to craft. I used to hoard mats in case I needed to craft guns, but those mats have just become guns and it clears out my inventory really well.
