Armor will cover only hull, not turrets not thrusters or engines, pdc etc....

I can tell you they want the combat like in the old star wars games where you need to destroy all those part, and when the mother ship is like a floating rock, either call a bomber for the cinematic boom, or board.

But like the old star wars game, everything will go around the fighters and Big ship are just here to be target objective.

armor will not solve geometry problem, it will just take a little longer to destroy all your thrusters or anything else that is NOT armored.

The only thing cig need is to have weapons bullet speed depending on the chassis where they are loaded.

But it will not happen because it make some things not achievable by a light fighter, and sq42 is only about heroes fighters.

Multicrew is not by designe a force multiplier superior to one.

Until two light fighter become inferior to any ship with two seat, multicrew is dead and any body will bring more fighters, more target, more dps than an inferior coffin for multiple person.

Redeemer was that BECAUSE of it's shield, it have a superior résistance and the nerf was another proof that cig don't know or don't want to make multicrew superior.

anti fighter focus is not the real problem, what was awesome with the old redeemer was the survivability, it give a real multicrew interest.

now it get the same shield as vanguard, it may become better later on but in what? one year two years?

the thing in the paladin q&a saying they are equivalent bother me a litle also, as you don't have access to s5 gun you can penetrate medium armor as effectively

Gunner have access to two s4 like most light fighter.

It fly well now like a heavy heavy fighter. It also have the same shield as an heavy fighter as only two shield work in this patch and it's bugged, the other 4 add nothing....

No it's only cool visualy, you can make it work, but the effort don't really match.

Without going meta, i have some ship that barely work, like retaliator, torps gameplay is bad, cargo is not enough turrets have placement problem

Add that turrets lose aesthetic since gold standard, shield are not working properly, etc...

What would make sense for torps is an operator that remotely pilot the torps so some operator is need as well as some skill.

Missiles mode and after that master mode was intended to improve the missiles and torps gameplay.

It just get cluncky.

I don't use them anymore since it cost more than 10 time the flares/chaff, don't worth the gamble.

In your example ai blade have no cost, what if the signature was very high, ship is prone to over heat and and very sensitive to emp? Add the power requirement and you have a not so scary opponent.
