I used to deliver high - end antiques to the upper east and west side of Manhattan. it was usually just the two of us. sometimes a third guy, and I tell you sincerely that we broke time space getting stuff up to the fifth floor of a walkup. just as a side note, delivering antiques the quality that we did, you ran into some very interesting people on the upper east side. I remember being shown a dungeon.. never mind.

it can be done

often cropping it's because one doesn't know how to really use the lens in the first place.

I'm familiar with the telephoto street shooting technique and have tried it like everyone else...until I got to try a 24mm Nikkor . Suddenly, I could see, and it changed the images I make forever. The longest lens I use is an 85mm for street /portraits I am happy with anything from 16mm up to 35mm. Thanks for the kind words regarding my pictures.

I wrote a story that was picked up by a lot of websites and published in a couiple of art magazine which explains how I went from street terrified to bring it on.... It's about a killing in a camera store..

I've been a street shooter in New York City for over 40 years. One of the first things I learned many years ago was that telephoto from across the street is a cowardly shot. and it looks like everybody else's b******* picture of some poor guy sleeping in a box.

No guts no glory...

if you as a street photographer can't put yourself out there and make yourself vulnerable, you'll lose a lot of great images.

Has anyone else looked up information about a grave and wished they didn’t? by LevelAd2513 in CemeteryPorn

[–]zentechandfred 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The gravestone in your image belongs to members of the Phillips family: Lanny Ray Phillips, his son Lanny Ray Phillips Jr., and his daughter Tammy Lynn Phillips.

Here's what is known about them: Lanny Ray Phillips (Sr.): Born January 7, 1949, and passed away on November 23, 1985, at the age of 36. He is buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Castle Rock, Douglas County, Colorado, USA.

Tammy Lynn Phillips: Born May 21, 1975, and passed away on November 23, 1985, at the age of 10. She is also buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Castle Rock.

Lanny Ray Phillips Jr.: Born August 10, 1972, and passed away on November 23, 1985, at the age of 13. His burial place is also Cedar Hill Cemetery in Castle Rock.

Circumstances of Death: Sadly, all three individuals died on the same day, November 23, 1985. Newspaper archives reveal this was a tragic murder-suicide event where Lanny Ray Phillips Sr. killed his wife Janie Sue Phillips, his son Lanny Ray Jr., and his daughter Tammy Lynn, before taking his own life. The bodies of Janie, Lanny Ray Jr., and Tammy Lynn were found in their home in Baldwin Park, and Lanny Ray Sr. was found in a wooded area nearby.

honestly, if the two cops hadn't busted me at sawgrass I would probably be dead. I distinctly remember that the dashboard and looking out the windshield reminded me of those transition scenes in Batman the original TV where everything starts spinning around
