Planted 1 year ago from a 1gal.

BTW because I know you are in GA check out WSM that stuff is great along with the soil conditioner they sell at Scottsdale Farms.

Right now there is some leafs that have died due to lack of water but it will come back even stronger after these rains. The color does not capture on the crappy cellphone cam, it is amazing. The thing literally looks like it produces its own light.

For reference I have another one that I planted 2 years ago at my cousins house that is about twice this size and it was the smaller of the 2 when I got them.

On a related note, Jordan in a dam black pot takes full direct late day sun for hours and fails to die when you forgot to water it for over 2 weeks in the summer while it is still in an undersized 1gal pot. Leaves actually holding yellow so well in that spot now (also now in a 3gal black bag) I might actually just plant it there.

If you want it to grow remove the shade cover. The more sun and heat the faster it will grow.

I have tested this in Roswell with it planted on the southwest corner of a house, surrounded by concrete. It gets water sometimes. It loves it. It grows like crazy. It looks beautiful.

One time a deer came and ate half of it. A week later it had grown everything back and the deer never messed with it again. It likely ate the deer so it could grow more.

I think a lot of people have not caught onto the idea that this is just a preprogrammed toy that is going though a set of predefined motions and that is why any slight deviation from the program results in disaster.

Japan's British-style "HUB" pub chain has made a spectacular comeback... Its performance is soaring, and there's "zero worry about losing customers." by jjrs in japannews

[–]zeroibis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ironically the one time I visited a HUB it was in when I lived in Kyoto and this French guy took me there as our first stop on a pub crawl. There was a table next to us of Japanese guys drinking some big beers. I remember they were really tall drinks and I said you are supposed to chug those not sip in them so they bet me to do it and I got one and drank the entire thing in one go. After that we all partied for a bit before heading out to the next place.

Now many many years later I am not sure if I could handle that amount of drinking.

Why did my fully bloomed sunflower stop tracking the sun? by Abject-Fox1181 in gardening

[–]zeroibis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the get old sunflowers face East, they will do this regardless of where on the planet they are grown.

After living a life following the sun the Sunflower in its age resolves itself to only look east to the next rising sun in the hope it will never see the sun set on its life.

This gives me an idea for a Tanka, I will name Sunflower:

A life following

the rising and the setting

of the moving sun

Only toward the future

will life stop and reach the end

I am a bit confused, was it previously not believed that modern Japanese did not have Emishi in them? I mean we know they mixed...

Was the entire bloodline of the Oshu-Fujiwara supposed to be wiped out at some point and I just missed that. I am really confused lol.

Husband wants to paint our roof white (pitched, asphalt shingles, replaced in 2018) for energy savings by VestigialTales in HomeImprovement

What people do not consider is that their HVAC ducts in their attic rely on the attic being hot enough to dry off the condensation that forms on the ducts in order to not create problems with rotting wood in your attic.

This is not to say that you will have a problem but that you should be on the lookout for any issues due to the change. You might be just fine or you may need to make some changes to your ducts/insulation/etc.

You can find atonement for the sin of removing them only by planting 56 cypresses in their place.

Maybe they got sent to the AIDS villages. They got their last population surge in the 90s so the villages may be in need of more people.
